I think he probably blew his chances to win the Oscar by putting out what seems to be this really stupid movie Norbit. What do you think?

 I've never heard of this before now. Truth is that his movie was scheduled to be released around this time anyway and alot of the STINK concerning this flick is over his comedic depiction of a large black woman. I mean come on...this should have no bearing at all on his performance in DREAM GIRLS :!:

I know Soulthinker.... man I would rather see all that money donated to a good cause (maybe my new car fund or something  ) rather than throwing it down the drain like that...

Yeah, Eddie Murphy needs to stop doing these "Nutty Professor" formula movies. He needs to change it up.

And Martin Lawrence is a great actor but he needs to change it up too. I hope I don't see a Big Momma 5. I understand that at the end of the day they're all trying to make a living.

I think Murphy wanted to be like Peter Sellers playing different characters.

I understand the multiple different characters. That's fine; he just needs to stop doing the whole fat-suit thing.

i just don't understand why Eddie Murphy's career took the direction that it took? i mean, was it "ALL" about the money Eddie?? his first films were great. Boomerang, the golden child, coming to america, trading places, beverly hills cop...all really good. and then he starts making stuff like the haunted mansion, and that movie with all the kids in it, etc... Shrek 1 was really funny, and his role in Dreamgirls from what i'm hearing, but Eddie's gotta stop accepting every single retarded role just because they're paying him top dollar to do it. and the same goes for Samuel L. Jackson. he's by far one of my favorite actors, but if he comes out with another snakes on the plane, or freedomland, i'll go insane...haha

It seems like some would take everything and anything to play some degenerate Neanderthal. I thought blackface minstrel was a thing of the past but apparently, i was wrong.

In my opinion, Eddie Murphy's career has been something of an ocean tide. Sees a surge one minute and then dies down the next. His career picked up in the early 90s till like 1998, then he re-emerged in about 2000 right until about 2003. He then flew into relative oblivion but fortunately, saw a renaissance this year wth "Dreamgirs". And then this...

Great way to follow up an Oscar performance, Eddie. Just keep getting that cheese.
