People date a while and for whatever reason in some cases, they break up. Hes a Hollywood celebrity. His age isnt nearly as much of a factor as it would be for a East coast suburbanite. If im in his situation I dont hesitate to cut a woman off if its not working either. You only have to worry about making your kids and yourself happy, you cant worry about stranger's thinking youre "pathetic" if you drop a woman after 18 months whos not right for you.

Clooney is a serial monogamist and I don't think he's ever had a relationship longer than 3 years.

Of course it's about him and no one else, but it always seems a little odd to me when you see high profile guys who would rather and prefer to be SINGLE their entire lives than make it happen in a relationship.

He's not 30something anymore on ER. Clooney is in his 50s and a MAN, not a woman hoping someone 'chooses' him to be with.

Also he doesn't have any kids, that I know of.

Some people aren't capable of getting beyond the superficial stages of any interpersonal relationship, and I get the feeling this is the type of cat Clooney is.

Like, if this chick accidentally burped at the dinner table or wore the wrong lingerie to bed, George IMO is thinking, time to 'upgrade'.

He just seems emotionally stunted to me.

 

This is sounding like a clash of cultures more than anything. You seem to think a man is pathetic if he doesn't make certain choices for his life at a certain age while others feel that as long as nobody gets hurt, they can life their life however they see fit.

And it needs to said again that hes a Hollywood celebrity, not a "normal" 9 to 5er. For all we know he doesn't believe in marriage which is more common than you think. Its a big world out there and not everyone has the same ideal of a successful life. Maybe he'll grow into his 70s and regret some choices but thats his deal, not ours.

1 to 3 years is plenty of time to decide that someone isnt right for you without getting categorized into the slut/player/whatever category. To add to that, we dont even know the ins and outs of their personal business and what led to the breakup. I just cant assume to be qualified to place blame one place or another.

I beleive Clooney was married to Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993 & got divorced. I do not see what he is doing wrong. He has stated he doesn't want to get married again and it appears he doesn't want kids, so what is the big deal? Clooney is a good looking guy, with tons of money and fame, he can live the bachelor lifestyle for ever and it is his perogative. Clooney got class and is much better than other married celebs who cheat on their spouse.

Clooney is kool, he is not just a playboy. He also takes up serious humanitarian issues. He was one of the few who brought Darfur genocide to public attention. I aint mad at him, do you George.

 

It's not that Clooney isn't married. I could care less.

What's odd to me is that Clooney doesn't stay with a chick for any length of time. Whatever the reasons, and I'm sure some of those women kicked him to the curb because he wouldn't commit, it's just a little odd that nearly all his relationships go stale after a minute.

If he had a significant other he was maintaining, I could relate to that. But dude still runs through females like he's changing his underwear.

I don't know Clooney or what he thinks about women or his approach to relationships, so this entire discussion is rhetorical.

Maybe 'pathetic' is too strong a term, but hearing about this dude break up with another female is getting old.

To be fair, not everyone feels the urge to be married or think that it's for them. Marriage is a big responsibility and considering his personal life and what he's doing now, he will have a hard time balancing out family and his personal causes. To me, his humanitarianism means more to him than spending the rest of his life with someone he may get bored over.

Besides, he WAS Bruce Wayne in one of the Batman movies and he wasn't much of a marrying man at all. Just a rich ass man doing his cause: fighting.

Nah. It's not Nico. I sort of figured out a minor hint when it comes to who is giving out negative points.
