The sad thing is I truly think that we will never know the truth no matter what. You have all these rich, well educated white boys and their families, a black stripper and a DA who just doesn't come off right. Did you guys hear that they went after the Taxi driver for some old charges after he testified? I guess it's standard procedure to check backgrounds of any witness, to me it feels very close to intimidation. I love Lacrosse, it is my favourite sport and was of course very sad to see Duke's season suspended. I went to watch the Lacrosse finals this year and people showed a lot of support for Duke. I honestly think they were to quick with the decision to suspend the season. If anything they should have suspended the suspects, not the entire team. I feel sad for the girl, her being a stripper and the stigma that comes with it... she won't get fair treatment people judged the second they heard she was a stripper, drunk on top of that.
i hear ya, i love lacrosse too, the one true american sport. I unfortunately dont see it from the strippers perspective as she was also mother and a student. stripping isnt a profession for a mother, much less anyone else. it is a horrible example for a child and a pathetic excuse for raising money to go to college where we are taught to be civilized humans not base animals--as the stripping industry and the pigs who patronize them are. that said, those boyz should be kicked off the team and out of Duke for conduct unbecoming a gentleman, lying, lewd behavior, and if they did the act, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I dont agree the lacrosse team lose their season and i think only the accused should be let go pending end of investigations and ruling. they are pigs and brutal criminals if they did it
I agree tuckerreed, it is an awesome sport. I can not believe it's not more popular, it has everything Americans love... speed, lots of scoring, athletic....do you follow the professional league as well? Chicago just got a team, I need to check them out unfortunately the sport is not that popular here so there are probably no crowds at the game
I hope u guys are kidding when u say that u don`t understand why Lacrosse isn`t more popular... Well, let me enlighten you: A bunch of big guys (or girls) running around with some kind of net hanging at the edge of a stick, looking like they`re trying to catch butterflies, with a tiny ball you can hardly ever see??? well...I`d rather watch hockey, even though the puck is quite hard to see as well!
chigirl: here on the midatlantic east coast--lacrosse is very popular, baltimore is lacrosse central. we have a professional team here in philadelphia too. it is very popular in prep schools and universities here as well. i love it, it is quintessential American, created by the Eastern Woodlands Native Americans
I know Tuckerreed, just wish Chicago would catch on more LOL. The NCAA finals were in Philly this year and they had close to 50 thousand people attend, it was amazing. The finals will be in Baltimore next year and I will be there again! Jreminator, I have to tell you that TV doesn't do this sport much justice. The big stations don't invest a lot of money to broadcast it so it might come across a bit boring and hard to follow. You might already have, if not try to make it to a Division I college game you will love it. I have never seen a sport more athletic, quick and exciting than Lacrosse.
