    Ratings take a big dive...

The season premier started last night. With all the backlash involving the patriarch, Phil Robertson, and their popularity would not have been affected, it seems as though that there would be some consequence to the whole fiasco. The debut only grabbed 8.5 million viewers. That's 3 million less than their consistent following from their last season.

Some may argue that the backlash is just coming back, biting their asses for revenge. However, I would only argue that while the ratings may have took a hit, I believe they will spike back up because that's the same night American Idol debuted and they didn't perform as well as when it first came out. But still, it's a sizable amount to give Duck Dynasty a ratings dive. Because of that, expect the regular viewership to return to it's prominence on A&E.

Better off directing that q to NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasoi's wife, Chirlane McCray.

(Now, unlike her blackness (and to a degree, her gender)....

    (FYI, it was 1991)

Never heard of the show until I saw Duck Dynasty merchandise in a Walmart (of course). I still haven't seen it and wouldn't watch even if Robertson wasn't a bigot and the show didn't revolve around the faux white trash premise. Ratings are down and may remain so, which usually means one thing from a business perspective.
