Well, I can see both sides of the argument. Being Jewish, I see how a lot of parents/Jews want to keep the Jewish lineage going because of the fear of us becoming an extinct people. Jewish isn't just a religion, but a culture at that. Within the culture, there are 2 main divisions and several ethnicities that fall in line of the said two and of course theres the religion itself. So with that said, I understand what his mother was saying, although I don't believe she really said that, yet she might think it.
