This was all very interesting, ....though good & evil is all a point of view in most cases. People & their faith always seem to make for a good convorsation.

    Satin and Evil

In the beginning the word was God and the word was with God then the word Became God.
meaning at first it was only God, he has to create someone or something he could be Lord over so he built a throne, created angles, which he put lucifer in charege of. God allowed lucifer to rome about his throne until one day lucifer decided that he could do what God was doing and that God was no longer needed. Lucifer started corrupting all the other angels to Go against all that God had taught them. It was not anyone tempting lucifer, it was greed in the fisrt degree. God noticed this difference in the way some of the angels were responding to his commands and figured out though the angel "gabriel" that lucifer was after the throne and the Bible said that God kicked Lucifer and the tainted angels out of heaven and lucifer fell to earth and hit the ground like a bolt of lightening. Every since lucifer has been trying to corrupt all to get back at God by gaining power and controlling anything that has to do with God. Satin don't really care what you do as long as you don't turn to God, you see he wins if you don't start praising God- he knows you will go to hell if just keep living a "normal life".

WHY does it always bother me sooooo much to hear/read ppl quote the Bible as if it was "THE TRUE TRUTH"???
Oh I know...bcoz they believe it is and they seem to just take someone else's word for the TRUTH!!! and they forget they have a vrain, they have instincts they have their own experience, their own opinions...

You are quoting the Bible written by men who, even if inspired, put their own experience and backgrounds into their writings...
The Bible should NEVER be interpreted literally...NEVER!! :)

that is because most of us were taught it was the truth, the word of God and that it was not man's thoughts but men who were inspired.

I don't know what I think any more but there was a time when I would have argued tooth and nail in its defense.

Of course evil comes from God. If God is the beginning and the All that means that it encompasses EVERYTHING AND ALL POTENTIALITY!!!

What is really good, Sassy, is that u don't know what u believe in anymore...and u know why? bcoz now u can search ur feelings, find ur truth, or at least, look for it...by urself, not just swallow the teachings that were INSERTED in ur brain for centuries...u heard me, CENTURIES...from ur ancestors down to you!!
Of course, Qsassy, I'm talking about how all of us have been brainwashed by history and the powers in our society, not u personnally...I really like that u can say out loud that you don't know what u believe in...this humility is the beginning of finding ur own way!! :)

    Peaaaaaace!!!

I ask you all on the board who is writing on this topic to challenge yourself by getting away from explaining the beginning of evil and the nature of evil by talking about Lucifer, Satan, the angels, and so on. Remember, that much of what is written in the Bible are parables, myths, and stories to explain the human condition--our internal and external struggle of finding harmony, balance, contentment, joy, bliss, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, and peace within ourselves, with each other, and the natural world. For all we know, Satan, the angels, the demons, and what have you could be archetypal characters that represent human characteristics, the natural elements, and even ideals. Even God. Thus, how would you break down the "orignal sin" or "Evil" in a secular philosophical interpretation to explain the nature of human beings and our struggle to find harmony?

Also, to all Christians on the board,

    HAPPY EASTER!

May God bless you on your Easter travels, have wonderful family get togethers, and enjoy some good food and company.

    Peace and Blessings.

No, evil does "Not" come from God. Because of free will, the original sinner (Satan) had the ability to choose to do good or evil. Now, when i say that he had the ability to choose to do good or evil, that doesn't imply that God "created" evil, it only implies that whatever it is that evil "is" we all have the ability to choose to unlock it and make it manifest itself. God is holy, and so it would be illogical to think that he "created" evil. That would be totally backwards logic. Of course, no human can fully comprehend or understand the holiness that is God, but IMO evil is simply a bi-product of choice. Evil is something that God allows, but it's not something that he created IMO.

Bry, you're my man, but I can see that you obviously attended Sunday School, with your mouth wide open to swallow everything that was said without ever actually thinking about what was forced into your throat!!!

    Hmmm...

lol...i haven't been to sunday school in years! most of the things that i say about god aren't coming from some sunday school teaching or sermon, they're coming from my own knowledge about god combined with scripture readings.

but basically, if somebody wants to say that god "created" evil, then go right ahead, because what he did was allow the "potential" for evil to exist, but it was "us" who chose to unlock it and make it manifest itself. if we never chose to "unlock" evil, then it wouldn't exist. so yes, god allows the "potential" for evil (because of the laws of free will. it's sort of like yin and yang. the same way that god allows the potential for good, he also has to allow the potential for evil), but it is us who make it real.

I will try to be bref on this :

God is the creator of everything that exist in our galaxy , At the begining
everything was dark(Night) , then separated the light and the darkness.

He find that " light " was Good :

    [

    Genesis 1
1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

    ]

He created lucifer with all his attributs including the free will , but remember for God to be Good , evil should exist (That's a prove of his
    great fairness).

I beleive he created all that staff to not make us like robot and he gave us the "free will" but "He want
us to be Good , choose the Good instead of evil".

In conclusion , i will say God created everything (Bad or Good) , but he
prefer the Good over the evil and advice us to do the same ( we are free to choose)
Sometime we do not really need to question those as all are part of his great plan for the human Kind.

There is no "God" and all forms of moral evil (murder, rape, Tyler Perry movies) exists only because we do.

There is another type of evil, natural evil (earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis) that kill large numbers of people and animals. Natural evil is a prominent feature of a blind and indifferent universe.

Once again, no gods, no devils, unicorns, or leprechauns in the universe we all share, just choices and personal responsibility for those choices.

    Problem solved.

out of curiosity...why are you so certain that God does not exist?

  16. satyricon

    satyricon Guest

The reality of God's existence or non-existence cannot be determined with any degree of certainty. God does not exist because I say he/she/it/them? does not exist.

I affirm the non-existence of God in my view of the universe, regardless of whether or not such a being exists.

It's also puzzling why a person would want to attach supernatural explanations of good or evil to things that can be understood without reference to silly and unverifiable claims.

"Evil exists because Lucifer turned against God and unleashed sin into the universe."

    OK.
