Actually my microwave is 2nd hand.
I am currently looking for a nice set of kitchen table and chairs.
Up to july I had lived with my family, and now on my own.So of course my place is not perfectly furnished yet.
    I don't mind buying furniture 2nd hand.
Just with clothes I'd prefer not to.

Majority of clothes and shoes are new, ive been debating on buying some clean used Jordan's because i may not want to wait for a new pair to show on ebay.

craigslist is my good friend for home goods, i just bought a desk for my office to go with my old desk that ikea doesn't sell anymore.

even though they are pre-owned they are very clean and may end up on my door step.

I love antiques, so no, things need not be new. I would prefer a bed or upholstered furniture to be new or next-to-new. Same with clothes. Would love a new car, but I've only ever owned one brand new car. So "new to me" will have to do! Lol.

I don't feel like I need everything new, but I love shopping so that's the way it turns out. My ex loves garage sales/craigslist...he buys, restores, sells all the time. I am not made for garage sales. I hate rummaging through other people's stuff, and dealing with people bargaining...I don't have the patience.

Yes, love the hunt - I own very little new furniture. I have some antiques & hand-me-downs from family that I treasure. I shop estate sales, rummage/yard sales, Goodwill & Salvation Army. I never buy new books or music/CD' s. There's an awesome used book store that gives credit when you bring in books you no longer want.

Two favorite yard sale items - a very gently used cusinart food processor for $15 & a white mountain ice cream maker for $1.

If I buy new, 75% of the time it's been clearanced or it's on sale. Paying retail gives me hives. :yawinkle:

Only my clothing has to be new. I am not into gadgets or knickknacks and refuse to purchase a brand new car as the majority of them depreciate over their lifetime.

I have a whole bunch of older siblings and older cousins so I have been using hand-me-downs my whole life. So I have no problem with used stuff. The only things I have to have new are electronics and underwear.
