Hmm, the thing is though that it's not entirely black women who make these comments. I have seen these comments come from a few black males who are "pro black." As well, while the ending logic is still the same, that because tons of black males are dating IR, than there must be a form of self hate going on.

I however, never seen this behavior within the Asian nor Hispanic Community.
In America, Asian women and White men are the most numerous IR in America, and while Asian males do feel they a similar strand as Black Women (Asian males are the least likely males to date IR and BW and are the least likely females to date IR.), you never see Asian males talk about self hate.

Thus, I do agree the term is just tossed out to negatively attack IR. Now that's not to say there isn't people who go into IR who exhibit this, but I definitely don't think it has to do with the high IR seen with athletes and it's definitely no where near the big incursion some make it out to be, especially black women. IMO, it's a very small pea in a very large pot.

You could have made a much better argument but you didn't. Your attraction to White women has nothing to do with other Black people so stop "blaming" them for it. Imagine the irony of a BW saying she wouldn't date you for the same reason.

Anyways, I agree that a preference for members of another race is not necessarily any more self-hating than a preference for members of the opposite sex.

The bottom line is this, I like white women and will continue to.

I don't have any issues with black women, I just don't have an attraction to them, physically or emotionally (based on my personal interests and desires).

Some guys date every kind of woman, some don't.

Why don't I feel black women to that level of interest, beats me. That would actually matter if I somehow was beholden to black women because I'm black.

LOL, I'm Afro-Caribbean by ethnicity so the whole my culture argument wouldn't work with me, granted I did grow up as a teen onwards in America.

When I see a white girl that fits certain qualities I like I will try to get to know her, if the opportunity presents itself.

When with a white woman I feel a strong passion, intensity, sensuality, more heat so to speak. My strong interest in different cultures probably plays a role, Its just that effect that mere words can't explain.

He's actually a semi-black separatist. I say semi because based on his videos, he's basically promoting black beauty and pride, yet doesn't express hatred or separatist viewpoints like some other individuals I've come across.

Is it me or is anyone just tired of talking about race.

Here's the rundown everyone is scared of or dislikes black males. That's about it right?
Can we just work on the solutions instead of rehashing what we already know.
I'm a grown ass man being worried about who does and doesn't like me is a waste of time. We just need to work on a better tomorrow for these kids and call it a day.

You're absolutely correct on the matter. But, such solutions are much more elusive than explored. It would take centuries of progress for people to get rid of that altogether. First and foremost, the concept we know as race is still ingrained in a lot of us, and for some, it's a remnant of our human psyche. We would have to create some social overhaul regarding race relations and reprogramming our understandings of it.

I disagree at least here in the US. We are a mere two generations away from getting past it. These overt and even covert racial attitudes are much more prevelant amongst the middle aged and older. Not to mention people like us who date interethnically are bridging an enormous gap by letting everyone see that a lot of their preconcieved notions are inaccurate. But we have to start letting go of the past and start focusing on the present. Asking the simple question what can I do today? And doing it. No more self pity no more low self esteem and it doesn't have to be overwhelming large changes. We can start with saving 20 dollars a month and reading one book month. Every leap started with a small step.

I have to admit I haven't paid too much attention to this thread. The term "self hate" is so damn subjective and the definition and application all depends on who saying and why.

Then you get into bullshit like "talkin' black" and "actin' black" and "black do/don't do this or that"

Its all a bit silly to me.

I don't we collectible hate ourselves, I think WE collectively don't know how to love ourselves, which is not the same.

It's true that every new generation becomes more socially progressive in attitudes over the course of time. However, such evolutions are very slow. We still see people our age are still influenced by their parents, though not of a big margin. However, we still have to remind ourselves that the new world is going to be something wonderful and the best way to do it is a secular, progressive education regarding race relations.

You're correct. Acting "insert ethnic background" sort of diminishes the purpose of progressive change.

The news at 4 in Atlanta! The first three stories " Cop is killed by a guy,two robbery suspect caught, students are robbed at gun point"! Do I have to tell you who the suspects were! There will always be racism. And there will always be knuckleheads that make things difficult for others. Doesn't matter if you dress well, educated, so called "act white, speak white" people will fear us. Who do I blame for this? I really don't know anymore!

The rate of time for change is becoming expidential. What once took hundreds of years can now take place in a few generations. Growing up most my friends' parents never had friends who didn't share the same ethnic background now its no where near as uncommon and by the time the children now grow up and have kids of their own it'll be totally common place.

I hate when people say always like they have a crystal ball lol. Dude a hundred years ago the idea of a woman like Oprah Winfrey was unimaginable and don't let me get started on Barak Obama. A negative attitude helps no one.

I feel you fam but what's the next course of action. The only absolute in this universe is change. It is inevitable that race relations will change but in the mean time how can we help the process along?
