Just curious, but did you at least welcome this woman?

No, I'm not a member of that forum (I'm not a black woman, nor do have any biracial children). Besides, I only read the thread after the fact, several months after it was over.

I see where you're coming from with that statement, but I think it extends a little further than how wm approach bw and how bm are not ashamed to be seen with their ww.

I personally have noticed a big difference with how bm and wm approach ANY woman, IR or otherwise. I was totally taken aback by how my man approached me, I'd never been hit on so blatantly and publicly before. No wm had even tried such a thing with me. In fact nearly all of the wm I have previously been with were introduced to me through mutual friends etc, I can't even remember the last time a wm came and chatted me up.

But bm however...I've had them shout at me across the street (both here in the UK and in Holland), I've had three ask for my phone number all at once (while I was visibly pregnant!), I've had one walk into me on purpose, then dog me for my phone number and I've had them hang out their car, whistle at me then turn around and pull up beside me on road! When I've discussed this with the Nigerian women I know, they say it's common (whether it is or not I don't know). They say it's because bm (in Africa at least) have to work very hard to get a woman and she'll always say no first of all, even if she'll eventually say yes. So these men are already prepared to stand out and make a big effort when going for the kill. I suppose traditionally, wm have never really had to do that, at least not in such an extreme way.

No, I didn't write the book "Just Don't Marry One." I just thought it fit into this thread. Thanks, for the compliment.

    Peace.

I see a lot of mixed couples. Depending where I am, will depend on who I am seeing. When out for a weekend, I usually see young bm/ww couples. Most appear to be very attractive. When I am at the Grapevine Mills Mall, I will see families. Last weekend, I happened to notice a lot of single ww with mixed kids.

Since this thread digressed (like many others floating around here on the boards) I'll just nod my head in agreement with Mosiah, and sunstorm.

When I stayed in Clinton Township/Mt. Clemens, Michigan, I saw quite a bit of them. But when I moved back 2 Detroit last year, I see more now than I did when I 1st moved out. But certain suburban areas are starting to flow with IR couples. Likewise with both Downtown and Southwest Detroit (any body familiar, or from those areas know what I'm talking about).

I am very lucky to stay in Clinton twp/Mt.Clemens also....They are very diverse cities. Even back when I was growing up here in the early eighties,
IR was everywhere! And this included BM/WW, WM/BW, and anyone else you can imagine! Now, sometimes you get the ignorant stares or real rude but quick comments (I love when they come across me...people like that do not think that you would reply, like I should stand speechless or something  But I always have something intelligent, yet sharp and to the point for them  . Otherwise, I enjoy my surroundings here in CT/MC!!!!

If the Good Lord is willing, I WILL relocate 2 Clinton Township/Mt. Clemens

Didja know that CT is planning 2 build an upsacle mall and 1 of the 1st chain stores is a Nordstrom?!? Does this mean that the Somerset
    Collection is facing some competition-LOL

HOLY SHIT......THEY BETTER HAVE A CLEARANCE SECTION
I don't like to spend my hard earned money in expensive places like that!
The only thing good that will come out of that is more jobs, I guess....

It wasn't this thread but someone mentioned Harlem and that it's getting better and that you see interracial couples more. My experience has been that Harlem is still a very rough place. My husband and I have lived there for some time, on 115th Street. The rats... the garbage... you look at a garbage bag on the sidewalk and something is moving inside... it's a rat. The crackheads... the buildings that ought to be demolished and rebuilt. We moved after someone broke into our bedroom through the window, having climbed up the fire escape stairs. My husband walked into the room and there was a guy there! He said they were both scared and the guy jumped right out the window. I think it was because my husband is tall and built, but what if it was me? Did he have a weapon? Then we couldn't stay there anymore because I can't sleep with the windows closed, and he refused to keep them open anymore. I hardly ever see interracial couples in Harlem, but I do see people of different races on occasion. And the local people aren't always nice... one time I was waiting for my husband on the stoop of our building, there were some kids sitting there too, next thing I know is a woman yelled from across the street: You all get off that stoop! I don't want you all sitting next to that lady! :(

Well, i live i North Cackalakie. I see IR couples of every combination when i go out. It's not uncommon for me to see a IR relationship between WF and BM, WM and BF, AF and BM....etc. I see them just about every time i go to the movies, or go for an outing.

The only type of couples I ever see in public are black men and white women here in my area, and to add, all the chicks are usually blondes.
