No, my friend is white. Most of my HS/college buddies are preppy white guys lol. This chick told me she grew up around a lot of blacks *shrugs*

Damn, she saw right through you. I hate when that happens, makes me feel kind of "predictable".

Thanks, ladies. On this forum, I usually think of 'bm' as 'black men', so I was confused for a sec. Now it all makes sense.

Argh I so dislike it when people refer to women as girls. Only exception is when its done by Prince, Jodeci or R Kelly (though I always think he's singing to a 14 year old, so lets scrap Mr Kelly)

hahahaha well she said the word 'girls' and she's 30. Might be a mindset sort of thing. I still refer to women in their mid 20s as girls and I know women still reference themselves as girls even in their early 30s.

I'm not fond of it either, but to her dying day, my grandma called her group of buddies from the 40s as "The Girls".

I refer to my tits as the girls when I speak of them in the collective

I might still use girls for a while. Subconsciously, not intentionally.

    Blame it on youth.

When I think about assertiveness and intelligence, I say 'women'. When I think about controlling guys' minds, I say 'ladies'. When I think about flirting, giggling and game-playing, I say 'girls'. I don't know why, but they all seem to connote different things.

That question comes up from time to time. Nothing malicious or anything. Everyone is cool with my preferences around there, and hey...as long as I show respect and consideration to everybody, I get the same in return.
