maybe not destiny then what is it. right place right time.

why is it a silly answer...when you dont know the question ?

also just because you work in the fields doesnt mean you are going to be thin. just like every species of every time there are different size people and different abilities.

Coincidental circumstances more so. But we've deviated from the original topic. The discussion of destiny should be considered elsewhere. Now...back to the karma channel. :drinkers:

coincidental circumstances is the same as destiny for some circles. again he also mentioned other factors of his physical skills or the lack thereof..slow and weak and what not. he would not have survived back then.

That's a big fat NO! Her condition has wreaked havoc on our family. Now that there are new and very successful treatment options available, she is convinced that she can't be helped. She can't take the meds, she can't make it to the therapiat's office, etc. Her condition forces my sister and I to be her ambassadors at family events, funerals and the like. It's not been pleasant. She falls back on the agoraphobia as an excuse at times.

I , too, am phobic (different phobia, but phobias are familial), and I understand the need to avoid situations that will bring on the fear, but when it affects your entire life and that of those who live with you, I would want to try everything I could to find treatment and healing.

That's not karma. That's just carelessness. You trip because of a misstep, that's not karma. That's just an accident. You pooped in someone's gas tank, it'll be a 1 in a million that it'll happen since it's a rare occurrence. Again, karma doesn't apply.

In regards to phobias, it's not learned. It's a psychological condition based on traumatic events.

what is dumb shit ? lets start there. Tripping....that is not doing dumb shit. thats an accident. like arch stated if you do evil to someone its going to come back one form or another. doing evil is dumb shit.

learned helpessness is a psychological "thing". it is not necessarily a phobia. its more of what i stated before if you talk yourself into wealth you can also talk yourself into poverty and so on

The issue with karma is that for it to work, according to new age jargon, the actions would have to be a direct result of something that has happened before. And time and time again, the idea of karma has been shut down significantly. Especially when there are good people who died because of "dumb shit". Look no further than MLK and other agents of social change who died for a cause. To people in that time, they would view it as dumb shit because he died. That's...basically the kind of logic people are justifying.

Secondly, define "evil." If anything, people who perform "evil" acts more so than many are benefiting greatly compared to those who do good all their lives. If they get caught, it's not karma. It's a problematic scenario he/she would expect to their consequences.

you can say that about king but people can say it was destined. people can say karma because he was cheating on his wife. they can but that would probably be wrong and self-righteous but they can. karma can be viewed as a self righteous view of things or it could be viewed as a way of the universe handing out justice for people who arent able to get justice thru the worlds view of the justice system as it would be seemed.

learned helpessness is defined as the expectations based on past experiences with lack of control that all ones efforts will lead to failure (educational psychology-anita woolfolk). thus people will say or can say that if you fail a math test yesterday you will fail tomorrow so dont try. that is why I stated that you can talk yourself into success by telling yourself yes I will succeed. then give yourself a plan and then work that plan. you can work with karma because if you are planning on doing your plan the best thing to minimize failure is to not fuck over people because you will never know when you may need their help. also, destiny is the formula of timing , preperation and opportunity and taking advantage of the opportunity , along with believing in yourself

Destiny, a new age jargon term. In all honesty, it had nothing to do with destiny/calling. This is the issue with people who uphold a high level of mysticism - they never seem to engage with reality.

The fact is that King became a prominent figure in the Civil Rights movement, thus his actions made him a target for those who didn't him challenge the status quo. Because of King's status, the chances of him being assassinated because of his cause and importance drastically increased. It's nothing to do with destiny or karma, otherwise other figures would have died as well. So again, your point holds VERY little logic in that department.

Human beings have the obsession to mystify or create an elevated purpose in their lives because we WANT to elevate our importance and self-assurance of existence. This is why constructs like karma and destiny exist - we simply want to elevate our own existences and others to feel a greater sense of importance.

Regarding LH, I won't necessarily argue with that. However, I don't see how this applies to karma or destiny or any of that nonsense. You failed the test because you didn't study enough or that your comprehension skills on the subject matter wasn't enough. Thus, go back, and practice...practice...and practice. You build motivation for yourself and that would come into consideration.

for starters the word destine/destiny has been around for centuries and the way it is used is nothing new. karma is nothing new either. buddhism comes to mind. reap what you so..comes to mind(bible). its old. nothing new age...except how people repackage it.

also logic? there is nothing logical about what happens in the world. even in science they cant explain everything. what science knows now is maybe less than half a percent of knowledge. 99% of the time they cant explain shit. explain how the birds are able to fly without an engine. it seems illogical. man still havent figured that out yet. having to march and fite for your civil rights is not logical. man still cant cure the fucking common cold (maybe, they just will not do it because it kill an industry)
