http://www.citynews.ca/news/news_8446.aspx Play the clip. What a disgrace. Some guy his teaching his 2 and 5 year old relatives how to smoke weed. When a white person sees this, it only backs up the stereotypes of all blacks.
Not just about them being black, he shouldnt be doing it full stop. Wouldnt leave him looking after my kids who are similar ages put it that way.
I see what you mean, but I've seen clips of a white dad doing ectasy with his son...is that an indictment against all of them? Robert Downey Jr. got his start doing drugs with his own dad as well. Ryan O'Neal also sat down with his kids and fired up. This isn't to justify their actions but you get the picture. I've heard of clips showing babies being sexually assaulted and tortured and production of "snuff" films...so does all this back up the stereotypes of whites too?
Nothing makes me angrier than to know someone is hurting black children but why must we all be judged by what those (2) sick little fukks did?!! You have wm stealing body parts from mortuaries, sexing animals and raping their own mothers' dead corpses but nothing seems to taint them regardless!
It is all absoloutely disgusting. Who has the power/the right to do this to these small children? NO ONE. I personally think that these abusers should have their hands and their genitals cut off.
I think Lexington summed up this ENTIRE thread in one sentence. No ONE person can REPRESENT and ENTIRE RACE.
People who abuse kids should be punished severely, that uncle, mother, and that camerakid too. 10 to 20 years with no parole.
Why is he a disgrace to blacks? I do not know what it is but sometimes, we worry too much about not wanting to look bad in front of white people that we ridicule ourselves in the process. I am in no way condoning his actions but i do not remember 1 white person saying Jeffrey Dahmer, Scott Peterson, Charles Manson (all vicious murderers) are a disgrace to whites and their crimes are more heinous than this. White people, for the most part, do not care how they are perceived and care less whether or not blacks think lowly of them. Also, they do not think as a group - they think individually - and will never, i repeat, never, put down other white people. So we need to stop all this Bill Cosby crap.
I am not shocked like most people are trying to act. We live in a drug culture. Collectively we might try to act as if we do not, but drugs, drug use and its culture touches every one of us whether we get high or not. It is in our movies, our music, our comedy. I am willing to bet everyone here has something in their possession that glorifeis getting high. Whether it is the old Cheech n Chong routines or Snoops albums or even Ice Cube with his Friday series of movies. I just find it hypocritical. Yeah, it is bad. But dont act like it is the worst thing you have ever seen. Especially if you doin it yourself. How can you convince a kid that it is soooo bad if you get high or support the drug culture your own self?
I know this is kind of off topic but: I believe that ALCOHOL is a drug. Whether people want to believe it or not. It INTOXICATES you. On a side note, some might argue caffeine is a drug too. But anyways, marijuana gets overrated as far as being BAD.(I in NO WAY condone giving narcotics or alcohol(I think alcohol is a narcotic) to a child. I think drinking is just as bad. We have a government sending mixed messages.
If white people had to endure what blacks do--the racism, and people judging them by what they see on the news or hear in music--then they would probably react the same as blacks. Whites have never had to battle oppression, and to stand together to fight for their rights, and that is why they are not concerned with their collective image.
No, they can't, but there are a lot of judgmental people out there who will judge an entire race or group of people when they've only interacted with a few people from that race. It certainly isn't right, but said people have probably never been judged as harshly themselves, so they don't realize the damage they are doing to themselves and the people they put down. Still, since we claimed to be such an evolved society, there is no excuse for that kind of behaviour. I've smoked weed with my parents, but not until I was 21. I certainly think it's wrong to encourage such behaviour as sucha young and vulnerable age. These children will definitely have problems in later life if this abuse continues. However, a lot of parents will not talk to their kids about drugs, or they will say "don't do it" without giving any kind of explanation why. If you as a parent recognize that your child is likely to do drugs, then you should sit down with them and have a long heart to heart about it. Educate them about proper use, if you have done drugs yourself and know what that is, and caution them about the dangers of addiction. If they're going to do it, then I think they should be educated by someone they trust instead of their friends who don't know any better, or some punk dealer who's just trying to make a quick buck. But again, certainly not at such a young age; I'm talking teenage years here.

.... Familiar with Northern Ireland's struggles Aqua?
ohhh please........ i understand the Irish have had their fair share of misery but the last time i checked, they weren't enslaved for 400 years and more, rendering them powerless over their lives. They weren't taken away from their families to take care of others.... Well actually some did, but to compare the miseries of the Irish with Africans is just bull. Granted, i'm not one who loves to play the blame game - i prefer to look towards a positive future- but until whites acknowledge that white privilege is a reality, race relations remains a dream.
.... Familiar with Northern Ireland's struggles Aqua?
Yes I am, and LC is right, it doesn't even come close to comparison. In my opinion, both sides, the Catholics and the Protestants are equally guilty in that civil war. By their own choice, they persecute each other. The Africans who were ripped from their homeland, transported and sold like animals had no choice.
That's absolutely right, but realistically, a lot of society loves to bunch black people into the same group/category regardless of if we like it/agree with it or not. people feed into what the media is giving them, and because these guys are black guys, in my opinion that's just gonna reinforce a lot of the negative stereotypes about black people that are already out there. you know, that they're all lazy, irresponsible, etc...

The Irish have had to battle opression and stand for their rights and to this day still are in Northern Ireland. What I was basically saying is it isnt just black people that endure racism and prejudism.. and struggle to this day.
I think we understand whay kinkygal is saying. She is just pointing out that white people have also, at times, to fight for justice too. Nobody is comparing this with black slavery. But we have come a long way. BM/WW relationships is proof of this.
