Denzel plays '70s Harlem heroin 'kingpin' Frank Lucas in 'American Gangster'. His wife was white if my memory serves me correctly. Carla Gugino has been cast in the film (scroll down):

I'VE BEEN CHECKIN SOURCES ON THIS AND NOWHERE IN THE GENRE IT HAS INTERRACIAL RELATIONSHIP, BUT RASTA YOU ARE RIGHT THE MAN DENZEL IS PLAYING WIFE IS WHITE, SO FAR THERE ARE NO BLACK WOMEN CASTED SO ONLY WAY I SEE DENZEL ESCAPING THIS ONE IS
BY EITHER NO LOVE SCENES OR SHADOW LOVE SCENES LIKE IN "HE GOT GAME" AND "MALCOM X".......WILL JUST HAVE O WAIT AND SEE NEXT YEAR.

:arrow: DENZEL’S ‘AMERICAN GANGSTER’ FINALLY ROLLS CAMERAS: Film begins production in NY after two years of drama; T.I. added to the cast.

*Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe finally began production on Imagine Entertainment’s “American Gangster” Monday in Queens, NY as news of rapper T.I.’s addition to the cast was made public.

“Gangster’s” long and winding road began in late 2004, when director Antoine Fuqua was attached to direct Washington and Benicio Del Toro in the lead roles. But a month before production, Universal Pictures chairman Stacey Snider canceled the film over fear the budget would surpass $100 million.

Imagine's Brian Grazer, who developed the drama from a New York magazine article by Mark Jacobson, brought in “Hotel Rwanda” writer-director Terry George to punch up Steve Zaillian's script and trim the budget. But Scott eventually dropped out after Universal still couldn’t get its budget issues together.

With the money situation finally worked out, enter Ridley Scott, who will now direct Washington and Crowe in the 1970s-set film about a police detective (Crowe) on the heels of a drug lord (Washington) who smuggled heroin into Harlem inside the coffins of soldiers returning from Vietnam. T.I. will play Washington’s nephew, a character he tells Billboard.com is “somewhat of a stretch.”

"Right now I'm learning everything I can about my character. I'm just there to soak things up," T.I. says. "There's a bunch of Academy Award-winners on this cast and I'm just there to learn. I'm in school."

 

I also heard that the producers tried to get Angelina Jolie to play the part of Denzel's wife in the flick. I think she may have been booked up, but I'll message her, and ask her personally.

Go right ahead my man and while you're at it tell her that she needs to stop blowing up my cell. It was just a casual thing and she needs to go back to her husband and kids...

 

The storyline would probably change somewhere along the line.

 

When did you go to prison??? I think you're confusing Angelina with Hezbollah....they are the ones that would blow up your cell.

Kennyg there were other films Denzel has escaped being with a WW but I had to read more of it since his rep on love/sex scenes with WW are scarce.

 

Denzel has said that he does not want to be portrayed in an interracial relationship on film. He felt the controversy would have a negative impact on his career.

God, with all the White women drooling over him in Hollywood, I just can't imagine that he's been faithful to his Black wife, who really isn't attractive.

No man is that loyal.

 

He said that around the time of Pelican Brief with Julia Roberts (who was down with doing the IR Sex Scene by the way :wink: ) but now I agree that Denzel should branch out 'cause black actresses aren't holding back so why should he?!

This seems like the type of movie in which either one, or both the black man and his white wife will be killed somehow.

 

And don't get your hopes up high for Denzel. I say that if you really want to see black men and white women in movies or TV, either look at indie films, or make your own film.

 

any other black actor and I would have hope, but as its denzel you just know that he will avoid all contact with her.

 

It's 2006 denzel and jamie foxx need to wake up and realize what will smith realizes and that it is hollywood producers b.s. about bm not touching their white women.

 

I think Denzel's gonna wake up & do a hot IR romance movie maybe even soon & Jamie Foxx is DOWN with doing anybody in my opinion! :lol:

Don't hold your breath on Denzel Washington with a WW on camera. One of my fave scene of Denzel along with the Malcolm X/Sofia and He Got Game was the scene of which he was framed in that pool on Ricochet. The criminal who escaped sent a blond hooker to "make love" to Washington's character.

 

:lol: ...Yeah I remember that one but they should have let him get it on with the sexy Lady DA from the beginning of the movie. :wink: By the way, wasn't that Lindsey Wagner the BIONIC WOMAN if I remember correctly :?: :!:

 

Wagner played Washington's boss in the DA dept. Linda Dona played the hooker Wanda.
