thank you Sardonic, i feel the same way. If you dont speak or act stereotypically they call you NOT BLACK. What determines ones race? Birth and genetics, not life experience and who you grow up with. plus I agree with you also, my race is not the topic
Tuck, an interesting example, but the points it makes are so true! Ignorant prejudice runs deep within the black community, especially against other black people. The responses you got prove it. Years ago, I would have said white-on-black racism has kept black people back the most. But, nowadays, I think that black-on-black racism is more dangerous than any other type of prejudice.
the website, started to look at alternatives to same race relationships. we are living outside the box with our IR lifestyles and yet there are trolls who come in to attack bm and ww for having our own choices for love in our life. black folks who are angry, hatefilled, jealous or ignorant or all the above--always attack other black folks for not staying on the plantation with them, for not remaining poor and miserable. Doesnt anyone see this?? I am not black because I dont speak stereotypically black? I am not black because I have a different life experience and background? Hmmm, so Lawrence Otis Graham the black author is not Black? So Harriet Tubman is not black? So, Booker T Washington was not black? So Madame C J Walker was not black? all because they dont do stereotyically black things. Thats what they said about Sidney Poitier when he became too popular, thats what they said about Bill Cosby for debating the lifestyles of blacks not making it today. Are people actually reading anything beyond the Tabloids? Dont they see the desparaging issues confronting the black community? and yet they would rather shout down debate so that the rest of the world doesnt know the issue but feels guilty for us and throw money at black so called leaders. i find it highly pathetic what many not all blacks today think constitute being black. no other group in the world is saying that people are no longer their race because of different views and life experiences except our people.
You know what I find pathetic? How black people in America fall for these controversial topics and debates regarding our 'societal status' again and again, that have been played out for decades, and yet, still feel compelled to constantly obsess over it. Pretty pathetic, if you ask me.
I forgot what show I was watching. But this black guy says,I'm suppose to relate to you because you're black. What?Did we beat the same drums in Africa or something?
