President Obama tours tornado-stricken Joplin, Mo.

Obama was warmly received in this conservative part of Missouri.

The reception that Pres. Obama received on his European trip suggest that despite our national issues the President of the United States is still the single most important/influential position in the world.

It is vital that we maintain our status as a world leader, if for no other reason it allows us to provide for ourselves and families.Pres. Obama has restored a great deal of the international respect and prestige that was lost under George W. Bush.

After days of focusing on the U.S. relationship with the rest of the world, this Sunday Pres. Obama was there to help uplift a small town in America. We still have a struggling economy, a war on terror and many more issues to deal with and yet there he was. It is amazing the demands and scrutiny that individuals, families, communities, the nation and the world places on this one person and yet more often than he has come through.

It actually did hit New Orleans. How do I know? I experienced it first hand and saw it all. Wind damage most definitely, but most of New Orleans East and the city was inundated with water.
