When I hear light skin, I think Alicia keyes or mariah carey. and not so much the brown skin folks like me but I am going to keep doing my thing.

 

Mariah Carey is so light, most people would never consider her black. LOL My husband took a lot of convincing when I told him her father was black. He still doesn't consider her black.

I think her face shows african descent traits but the skin tone is highly light.

 

This whole light skin vs dark skin is absurd. What about us medium guys? I'm more of a milk chocolate/caramel color. I think I'm too dark to be light skin and too light to be dark skin if that makes sense. lol I'm somewhere in the middle. The best of both worlds.

But yeah, this debate is absurd. lol

 

You're not the only brown skin here. I'm brown skinned too. I'm more of a light brown than anything.

I remember growing up when skin tone was in style. Light skinned dudes were in style. Sad that a complexion was "in style". Light skinned with light eyes were what was hot.

My friend from back in the day was brown skinned and he used to call all brown and dark skinned dudes, Ben Vereens. Ben Vereens were making a comeback as he put it.

I personally don't find any one complexion attractive, but the man in it.

The last guy I dated was caramel and the one before him was dark skinned, but looking back at my dating life, I think the dudes in the middle outweighed both light and dark.
