The brother is telling the truth, sistahs will pass up on him for a thug lookin shyt for brain, ignorant azz fool, then talk shyt about how brothers ain't shyt. Then they have the nerve to talk about Taye who don't have a gang of babies momma's, is collage educated, not in the news for being arrested but his biggest crime is being with a white woman.

That's why a lot of brothers are leaving Black women in droves.

so true. alot of sistas got their priorities wrong. If they appreciated more brothas like taye then so many brothas wouldnt be running to white women.
the fact is sistas want a thug because they believe he is less likely to go with a white woman in doing this the brotha remains in a deadbeat situation because she wont allow him to develop (if he tries to they call him "sellout" or "uncle tom") and she happy to stay with him because she thinks he wont be attracted to white girls, but anyone who knows about rappers and there escapades in europe know this aint the case. Sistas arent appreciating smart brothas, the smart brothas being smart go were they are appreciated.
The real reason why there are so many thugs in the hood? It's because thats what sistas want, life is about supply and demand and if more sistas wanted more college educated brothas and less thugs then thats what would happen.
But they dont want any college educated brothas around because they worry they might have to compete with white women for them. Taye diggs and tiger woods are representative of these brothas, as such they continue to suffer the wrath of sista hating, as brothas like taye diggs are slated, gangster rappers like 50 cent are uplifted and the black community continues to suffer, the smart brothas as always will find a way out and inevitably end up with a white woman and in doing that he will become another figure of hate for sistas, so to compensate they will uplift another gangster rapper and the smart brothas being smart will always do the same thing and the cycle continues.

Its a weird cycle this thing called life....indeed it is.

Whilst i understand where some of you are coming from, i deem it a little bit far-fetched, rather unusual, that you would somehow directly try to link black incarceration, unemployment, anti-intellectual attitudes and crime rate to black women. Now that is bloated, bigoted and mean-spirited. It is hardly possible that the dream of every black woman is an uneducated, misogynistic, underachieving, gold-toothed frat boy who has not goal in life but to wreck that of others. At least not with the black women i know. It is one thing to have opinions but it's another for you to act as though the objects of your opinions are universal. That is exactly some of the actions of a number of whites that we vehemently despise and so to do the same thing reeks of hypocrisy if you ask me.

Comments like "sistahs will pass up on him for a thug lookin shyt for brain, ignorant azz fool, then talk shyt about how brothers ain't shyt" are not only inarticulate but are subjective. All black women do not have such attitudes and whilst i do not expect you to hand-pick the ones who harbor such sentiments, at least it should dawn on you that whenever you are to express yourself, be concise about it. The last time i checked, only a handful of black women actually want such black males. The majority of black women prefer an intelligent, educated, well-spoken and modest man. I do understand that many black women despise black males with white females (and black males share similar feelings) but to consider interracial relationships as some sort of conspiracy against black female rage is inane.

Now i do know that you guys mean well and did not want to go on an anti-black female diatribe but this b.s has got to stop some time. I am tired of black people bashing one another for the mis-steps of each other. If a black individual screws up, he has more than enough white people who want to burn him alive so why do we need to fuel up his body? Isn't that making his roast quicker?

Tonytony said that sistas want sistas want a thug because they believe he is less likely to go with a white woman in doing this the brotha remains in a deadbeat situation because she wont allow him to develop (if he tries to they call him "sellout" or "uncle tom") and she happy to stay with him because she thinks he wont be attracted to white girls. That is just not true for the most part. Although you are right about the existence of thugs who like white women (who said a thug cannot love/be loved), it is entirely up to that man to do what is best for him. If he goes off to college, gets a job and settles down, he might be despised by some but his life is comfortable and guess what, he is too!!! At least he does not have to worry about unpaid bills anymore and things along those lines. On the other hand, what common sense does it make to please a moron when you are not pleased with your self? It is foolish to gain the whole world and lose yourself. There are not thugs in the hood because of black women; being a thug is a conscious choice one makes. You cannot be forced to be one; it's either you are or you are not. There ain't no alternatives.

Most black women, at least in my experiences, appreciate intelligent, educated and enlightened black men. If so, what could explain the fact that 90% of black marriages are betwen black men and women, 87% of black married couples are dual job, middle class couples as well as the fact that 75% of black people live in "middle class upwards "households. Since about 8% of black males marry white women, it would make sense to assume that most of these achieving black men are married to black women. Now that makes that "myth" foul.

Whilst we share similar sentiments in our dismay of the way gangsta rappers are "uplifted", i do not believe it is necessarily a conscious thing, especially with these new generation. Seeing as hip-hop is almost a "must-do" for most young black folks regardless of your general persuasion, we tend to support these guys who we relate to. Indeed, there are some who are solely intrigued by 50 Cent's gangsta persona and past, most black folks support him because well, he's still a black man and his support, like that of most black visible figures in fields from entertainment to politics, are just reflective of that "communal" attitudes of African-Americans that dates as far back as slave days. Due to what blacks in America have been through, we feel that we gotta have each other's back even when they hit you away. After all, black folks still rejoiced at Michael Jackson and O.J Simpson's respective acquittals despite their "selling out". Tiger Woods, whilst hated by many blacks, is still given the respect he deserves and black magazines, newspapers and colums never stop talk about his continual successes. And remember this is the man who time and time again, refuses to be labeled "black" even though 98% of America sees his as just that.

So in conclusion, i feel thatthe anti-intellectual attitudes shared by blacks is as a reflection of their surroundings and up-bringings and not because blacks are inherently stupid and bad people.

I luv your intelligent commentary. perhaps I shouldnt have thrown such a wide statement. But I do stand by what I said about sistas putting pressure on black men to become thugs, that much I can tell you from my experience. I have seen good men who were academically book smart throw a good future away trying to impress by being more thug like. dont tell me that black women do not have any sort of bearing on the amount thugs around because I know for a fact that they do.
I will admit I was wrong in my statement by saying that they are solely responsible for some men staying in their position. but the reason I said that is because too many times I saw them throw insults like "coconut" and being "weak" at guys who didnt act like they were aspiring rappers, for me it was different because anytime someone called me that I simply brushed it aside and continued with my studies, but I know other people who fell into that trap and wanted to prove..in the end it cost them their futures. Me on the other hand has completed a masters in finance and today went for an interview today as a trader, by Gods grace I will probably be taken on, if they dont then there are others who have been in touch so it looks good, I made sacrifices but if I succeed at what I want to do I will be rolling in the money.
I believe that if I was strong enough to let it roll off my sleeve then these other brothas should have been too. so while you are absolutely right in saying that every body can make choices and should be held accountable for their choices we must never discount the effect external influences have on the decisions people make, there is no stronger influence than the pursuit of female adulation. while some sistas today have wisened up and are now less critical of smart brothas, the reality is that there are still plenty who want a thug because of insecurity.

You'll have a bone to pick with bw until the day you sky, but to consistently spout that nonsense about what the majority of us seek in bm is totally irresponsible. Even you couldn't possibly be that oblivious. What about that young ww (dating a thug) kidnapped by her parents as they tried to force her into an abortion. Things must not be going so swell with you these days. You live to smear bw and it must be a real killer that we continue to survive.

As usual, Lexington is trying to be obtuse.

I meant that Snipes supposedly was critical of BW in an article as well (even though I have never read this article and have never been able to find it on the Internet) and next thing you know he's in straight-to-DVD hell and dodging the IRS.

I can see this whole Diggs thing taking on a life of its own, i.e. people accusing him of saying things he didn't say if you read the actual article. It's happening already.

If anything, the interviewer was hostile to him right off the bat.

I think that's the one which was causing the havoc and I never understood why. I see nothing wrong with it, in a matter of fact I believe he has a point with what he is saying about western women... and I have seen worse comments made by women about men.

Snipes talks about Black, White and Asian women and why he told Sean Connery he had 'blackness.'
    Jet, August 24, 1998

Famed actor Wesley Snipes who stars in the new thriller Blade, recently described Asian women as "bedroom generals" and recalled how he told Sean Connery that the White actor must have some Black blood in him.

In a revealing interview in Movieline with writer Lawrence Grobel, Snipes said there is a difference among Black, White and Asian women,

"I've come to the conclusion that beautiful women in the West aren't comfortable finding strength in their femininity. They want to do masculine-oriented things to establish their femininity," Snipes said.

"It's a contradiction. Water doesn't have to fight a rock to prove it's as strong as a rock. Water understands it's soft and gentle..."

Snipes, who is dating Asian model and restaurateur Donna Wong, added, "Asian women are out there: They're beautiful, compassionate. (But) Black women are beautiful; some White women are beautiful."

Snipes also noted, "I read that Asian women were bedroom generals. Some people think that means they're great in bed, but that's not the issue. They're talking about a place where the man is at his most vulnerable, where they have the most control. They don't have to beat him over the head to mow the lawn. They can whisper it in his ear and give him a kiss on the cheek and it's no problem. That's a general."

Asked what turns him on in a women, Snipes replied, "I love legs. From the waist down, it's all good. I like a woman who is self-confident, who can work it, walk the walk, wear her clothes, smile, be happy...yeah, I like that."

Snipes, who co-starred opposite veteran actor Sean Connery in Rising Sun, said he enjoyed working with the actor best known for his James Bond movies and praised Connery for his cool, tough-guy performances, saying he reminded him of a Black man.

"He was great," Snipes said. "He liked me; I told him, `You ain't nothing but a Brother anyway. There's a Black man somewhere in your family. You can tell by the way you walk, the color of your skin. The thing about Bond and why we ain't got no problem with you is because he whipped a-- around the world, but he never went to Harlem.'"

    Silver,

That's not the Snipes article in question, because it doesn't read like what has been attributed by Wes: "black women are too much trouble to deal with".

Do you think that there is a chance that you can dig up the right article so I can get an idea what the discussion is about? I would appreciate it! [IMG]
