if you had to pick one country to live in for mass acceptance of your interracial relationship where would it be and why?

Maybe south America. Brasil perhaps. There seems a good mix of race and I dont think I know much of any fighting which is racial. Maybe I'm wrong. Good weather too 8)

    Scandinavia

One of the Scandinavian countries like Sweden which have a tolerance towards IR.

There are many places I would like to visit such as Italy, England, Sweden, Iceland, Brazil, Japan and the continent of Africa. But as long as my parents are living, I will stay in America because they would hate for their children to be so far away from them. Since I am from Georgia, I would have to live in a place where the people are down-to-earth, rugged, and appeal to my criterion of outdoor adventure. I'm no expert in evaluating other countries, but from what I do know, here are two places I would consider moving to:

AUSTRALIA - This place appeals to me because the people there are very hearty, they have personalities similar to Southerners, the women have nice tans and they aren't that opposed IR dating. There is lots of unique wildlife, clean beaches, nature hasn't been intruded upon that much and if you want to live in the city, Sydney is always there. Also, any country that has produced such women as Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman couldn't be that bad.

CANADA - Now why would a Georgia guy want to move to a place where the weather is so cold? It wouldn't be that impossible for me to adapt to the climate because, after all, people from the Caribbean who don't want to live in America move there all the time and most of them have never even seen snow and ice on the ground before. Canada is very multicultural and I believe that it is not as hung up on race as the USA is. Like Australia, the people have down home demeanors, they are arduous, and a have respect for nature. There is a lot of outdoors to explore and its cities don't have nearly as much crime as American cities do. One drawback is that I doubt I will see many naturals tans there most of the year. But there is one part of their corporate culture I really like: Wearing loud perfumes is frowned upon in Canada's workplace because it seems as if you're trying to hide bad hygiene. I wish that practice was adopted in the States. And also, every time I look at any IR dating website, for some reason those sites tend to have many Canadian women members. Maybe I should go and find out what's up.

I've always had this impression of Australia as being closed minded but I guess that's not the case........ :toimonster:

You might be right; I'm only basing my comments on what I've heard about Australia. I do know for a fact there is wildlife in Australia that's uniquely found there and nowhere else in the world. It might be cool to see that. I have never heard any accusations of them being closed-minded, but I I've been told that they are a tough, rowdy bunch. I guess you have to be that way when you live in a country that probably has the largest density of venomous snakes in the world. Here is a photo of an interracial couple in Sydney. However, one pic of a lone IR couple isn't indicative of a whole group of people.

I'd like to visit Ireland. The people there seem to be quite friendly, despite the dysfunctional drinking/fighting, although I don't drink.

Not sure if I'd live there yet though.

Yes I have heard Ireland and the people there are very nice.

    NOT me :D
Not just snakes but also the spiders. I would be scared the whole time lol.
And the sea is worse I wont even talk about sharks

    AND this :

The Sea wasp jellyfish. Called the most dangerous creature in the world.
I think the facts will prove why. (30 second!!)

I would not even get into water in a bathtub in Australia lol
But I dont stop anyone

Ireland: the rolling hills and genuine redheads. Yes sir!

I'd also like to visit Cuba, even though it's against USA law for an American to go there unless that person gets special approval. But as I've stated so many times before, forbidden fruit is a tremendous temptation. Here's what I'm missing out on: Cuban women in their natural habitat.

I wouldn't mind being WITH that guy - lovely shoulders.

The UK is fine for me, generally an accepting country with the exception of a small minority, and I live in London where many streets all over the city are full of interracial couples, particularly in the area which I live in. It is scarcely remarked upon.

Hi Mosiah, glad you are interested in our fine country ;) Australia is a beautiful place, and alot of what you have said is right. Australia is also one of the most multicultural countries in the world, that said we don't have alot of black peeps, certainly not Afro-Americans. We are getting more people from Africa, either to study or live which livens things up nicely.

Australia has two cities which were recently ranked very highly in the world's best places to live, Sydney and Melbourne. In both these places you can hear 20 different languages just walking down the block, with amazing food that rivals that anywhere in the world. They may not be enormous compared to other cities, but they are world cities by any standard.

I'm ashamed to say that there is racism in Australia, and it breaks my heart. I don't know comparatively, it would be hard to say. IN 3 years with my African boy I've certainly experienced some tension, but the racial tension is not primarily black-white.

It has gotten worse with our current government's pathetic immigration policies and nasty habit of jumping into war when Bush or Blair click their fingers (sorry, guys!)

However, in cities especially you really won't have a problem.

The tan thing is true, but we aren't all like that!! It's a bit of a sterotype of Aussies though there is a strong beach culture on the east coast.
Oh and guys, unless you are out in the bush (well, the 'forest' as you guys might say) you really don't need to stress about the venomous animals!

Guess I should put in a plug for where I live, Newcastle (2 hrs North of Sydney). A beautiful place, but at around 800,000 in the whole region is a little small for me now, though it is a modern city.

    [IMG][/img]

    sorry for the big pic.
Oh, by the way, Newcastle produced Miss Universe recently, so us women can't be that bad ;)

It is between white and people from vietnam, indonesia, china etc. I am right???

Lol not me. What about the water?? I would not go in with that sea wasp thing swimming in the sea. Death in 30second - 4 minute. This is certain death, it would take at least that long to get to the land lol!

'Sup, I think previously you were right, but lately it has more frequently been between Anglo white people and non-anglo whites (Lebanese muslims). The whole thing is ridiculous, I wouldn't say that is indicative of a whole nation though, but that is what has gotten some media attention at the moment.

A while ago at my university there was a horrible racist poster campaign against our African students, and me and my bf and other IR couples (of which there are heaps and heaps, IR couples at uni or college for you guys have it easy usually) got harrassed. When the people got caught, it turned out they themselves were international students!! From France and Germany. They were promptly expelled and deported

The irikundi jellyfish that you are talking about is only in the waters of the far far north, and you probably don't want to swim there anywhere (crocodiles and sharks). So along all the east coast waters, you are safe :)

Oh ok. I thought that because I saw a movie (yes I know not a good information source, but it is made on real life they say.) in Australia with Russell Crowe about whites vs vietnam, indonesia etc in the city. I forget the name.

Yes that fact image I posted said North AUS/South east Asia. So yes, probably safe. But still the thought of 30sec - 4 minute is very scary and there is no point even discussing surviving if you were stung lol . I love animals, dangerous animals like this jellyfish. Even though I would not go near, I find them very interesting. 8)
