Upper middle class white girls my ass...they could be white trailer trash...a Black cop would get fucked-up for doing that.
Tackle them? Are you people stupid. Number one rule of any fight NEVER turn your back on an enemy. He was dealing with people who were resisting arrest. They could have been resisting because they had warrants or had drugs on them. He could be tackling one while another pulled out a knife or a gun. Then the story would be dead cop killed in a routine traffic incident. He was 100% in the right. He punched one suspect while keeping eye contact on both and subduing the other one. He was by himself with no back up. As far as the race angle you guys are probably right but does that mean cops shouldn't do their job because society has horeshit double standards? You guys are seriously being unreasonable. Seriously I can't believe you said tackle her. Have any of you been in a fight?
Flame me and you usually agree on the serious topics like immigration and race. Truth be told sometimes you and Igg seem to be the only other dudes with sense on serious topics but we gotta agree to disagree on this one.
How the hell could he have pepper sprayed the girl who was interfering with the arrest while he was struggling with the first girl?? Her friend never should have approached the officer at all. Hate to see a female get snuck, but she brought that shit on herself. If you don't fear that a cop is about to take your LIFE, ( unlikely with that crowd around them), chill out and take the punishment.
You just make way too much sense most of the time BA. Couldn't agree with you more. You are so full of it. The punch to the face is a tactic police officers are taught to quickly diffuse a situation, and rather clearly it works. Additionally, tackling her when the odds are 2 potential suspects to 1 cop, with a clearly antagonistic crowd developing is idiotic. With that many potential aggressors around, turning his back on any of them would be pure stupidity. Bottomline if a police officer asks you to step over to his car so he can speak to you, you do it, you don't give him crap, you just shut your mouth and do what you're told. You'll notice that there were 4 girls who were jaywalking together, 2 gave him crap, the other 2 didn't and where are the 2 that didn't... not in jail cause they weren't stupid and disrespectful. My daughter's the same age as these girls, she would never give a cop attitude like that, but if she did and she got popped in the face because of it, I'd still think that the officer was right to do it. You do not touch a police officer, you don't sass one either, and then think he's just gonna let you walk away.
Because a punch to the shoulder, or even a light push would be effective enough to get the other girl off of him? Once again, what's wrong, besides one of the many double standards our society has? People need to stop acting like females are this weak and brittle creature. They aren't a fragile china plate. We humans are built tough.
Exactly. If a dog was biting at you you wouldn't stop to worry about the gender you would make sure that fucker stopped biting at you. I don't get this she's a girl bullshit. You come at me with physical force you're an assualiant. Just because I happen to be stronger and faster than you is your dumb fault for starting shit. Don't start nothin won't be nothin.
Seriously, I wish I could have a facepalm pic ready for every flaminghetero post. The guy just doesnt get it. When he is proven wrong (which is pretty much 99% of the time since I've been posting here)
Ther situation assessed: What SHOULD transpire (Or SHOULD have); In 4 segments: 1 - The teenybopper in black doin' all the scufflin' & rasslin' - Busted for resisting arrest. Nothing less. 2 - The one in pink that got clobbered - Busted for obstruction of justice & interference with Official Police Duties. Nothing Less. 3 - The officer in the midst of all this - All ya needed to do was throw the girl in black to the ground & cuf 'wm. Nothing more, nothing less. And what the hell was WITH all that leapin' & roarin' around? What? Were you tryin' to SLOW-DANCE?!? 4 - As for the punchin' part....In lieu of said clobbering...well, is that not what a TASER or MACE is what you (apparently and hopefully) are equipped with? Possible disciplinary charges should be excessive and inappropriate use of force. The reason for said charges already explained above. Verbal or written reprimand, maybe. But IMO, about 2 weeks unpaid suspension. Just my tuppence, yes? OpinionsCartoonStudios@Yahoo.Co.UK
Granted a puss fulla pepper spray....it's *gotta* be unpleasant, m8..... But considering the Departmentally-Issued Implement is the "politically-correct lesser of the two evils"...the *former* would pontentially ABATE & AVOID lawsuits and such...while the *latter* would DEFINITELY *INVITE* 'em.. And that's the way it is...to quote The Much Regretted Walter Cronkite at the end of the newsday.... OpinionsCartonnStudios@Yahoo.Co.UK
I think might mace and pepper spray is used to control a crowd. I don't think it's against regulations to punch someone in the face. They are taught how to punch people in self defense class.
It is actually a technique police officers are taught to use, as a sharp pop to the nose is very effective in persuading someone to cease and desist. Mace and pepper spray would not have been possible in this scenario IMO, as he had his hands full with the crazy chick.
This may be true.... But ever since that *very first* McDonald's Coffe Saclding Lawsuit Fiasco.. Not to mention a certain incident involving a PCP-driven felon - OOP! I mean, um, "motorist" - in California circa 1991. ...it just seems that Joe Public, U.S.A. (gender and ethnicity aside) is nowadays just plain ol' Litigation-Happy. An' it obviously means that Your Local Constable has *best* be on his P's & Q's...as well as on his toes....now more than ever..... OpinionsCartoonStudios@Yahoo.Co.UK
If you are talkign about rodney king then I think you are a bit wrong. Rodney was the representation of the Police department going mad. They were beating people down off the scene.
I agree with an earlier post if you want to take on the role of a man feel the fist of a man. all she had to do was take the ticket and move on. it could have been no more than $100. let it go.... Now I will say this maybe a punch is a bit much but a mush to the side of the head would have suffice. LOL.
cops can't afford to play around every time they put on that uniform, they become a target... we have the luxury of not knowing what that feels like, so we can sit back and pass judgment all day long... ..but for the cop, he had to do his job the best way he could without making a stupid mistake. A lapse in judgment can be the difference between returning home safely, or ending up in the ER with a broken bone or a stab wound from a perp.
