To pay homage to the incredible and historic gold medal haul for American female athletes at the London Games the folks at NIKE launched a line of tshirts specifically for women labeled "Gold Digging".

In its statement Nike has said “The t-shirt uses a phrase in an ironic way that is relevant given it was released just as the world focused on the success of female athletes.”

Some people are not buying it though and are calling it sexist. This is nothing new for NIKE they thrive on such controversy. This wont be hurting the bottom line because retailers are continuing to carry and in some cases sell out of them.

Women are the ones buying the shirts, so that kinda undermines the sexist claims.
