Just because you 'heard' it in a movie or how your family member experienced a situation where light skinned Black kids seemed to be preferred in adoption by Whites is hearsay at best.

Of the handful of Black people I know who were adopted, all were brown to dark skinned.

BTW, many of those Black kids adopted by American celebs are American born.
