lol wow....talk about a ironic thread.

If everybody who reps this flag is a racist then I suppose everybody with a tattoo is a gangster. Or maybe every bald white guy is a skinhead?

Wooo who knew the standard or racial equality was met just by talking to someone.

Almost as crazy as the idea that someone's thoughts on race can be determined by a flag they have.

I'm from the south jackass, I have known plenty of people who had this sign. It means their proud to be rednecks, not proud to be racist...

im 50/50. maybe its just because ive never been exposed to it in minnesota.

the two times in my life ive seen a confederate flag it surprised me, but i didnt get any feeling of anger over it.

I think some people do have a racist attitude with the flag, but I also think some people are also proud of the South as well and use that as southern pride. The stars and bars is also a notorious rebel flag that is used all over outside of the south. Has different meanings to different people.

For people who say the confederate flag flew under slavery, what about the American flag then by its side?

Ive gotten to a point where im tired of people being overly sensitive and making big things out of something that happened years ago.

As someone who's lived in Texas & been around rednecks twenty years longer than you've been alive, I'm saying you're full of shit.

    :smt023

    You're grasping now, little man.

Are you really a redneck, or are you really this clueless? Why are you so defensive, & why are you taking this so personally? Hmmm.............:smt017

    Cool story bro?

Have you been to every city in Texas? every neighborhood? every house of someone who has a confederate flag?
Yeah didn't think so. So you can't say that everyone who has it is racist.

That's almost as ignorant as a white guy who says all black people sell drugs just because he knew a few who did.

But go ahead tell me more....

Question. Do all white people who wear vans skate?

No one is saying ALL WHITE PEOPLE. Why the hell are you so defensive about some of the negative things that SOME WHITE PEOPLE, NOT ALL do that are brought up? And you wonder why there are some forum members here who think that you are white....

People in this thread have said that it's a racist symbol.

Thus meaning that anyone who has the flag or sign is a racist. Thus meaning that ALL white people who have this flag or racist.

    Which is not true.

I went to a HS full of rednecks(who had confederate flags) and plenty of them had black friends.

Don't see what's so hard to understand...

I get "defensive" cause I'm against ignorance which ironically is what this thread is about.

Hasn't history and common knowledge taught us that any time people say "ALL(insert type of people) Do This" they're usually wrong.

It is a racist symbol and NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE who have it are racist. Just like in your experience none of the people that you say you know that rep that flag aren't racist, I know plenty that associate with black and other non whites who have some viewpoints that are very ignorant if not downright racist. More people here have obviously seen the darker side of what the Confederate flag represents than you have. So quit trying to make lite of that just because you personally haven't seen it and acting like those of us who have are somehow less enlightened than you are. You haven't been here that long but, that condesending shit you do is getting real old , real quick.

Call me "bro" all you want to little man; even as a WW, I'm more of a BM than you are. :smt042

    Yep.

Better be nice to that white boy, Ra-Ra; you don't want him calling his redneck buddies for backup. ;)

Well I guess makes this thread kind of pointless then doesn't it?

No, it doesn't. Not when there some people here who think the Confederate flag is not racist and is just a "Southern Pride" thing.

Look little boy, go back and read what I posted about you and that white boy condescending attitude of yours. Don't know what bug you got up your ass with people that don't see the same things you see. I'll repeat this again since you obviously can't properly process information. The Confederate Flag is a racist symbol. The fact that there have been steps since the 1950's when that flag was resurrected after decades of being virtually unseen to try to make it a "Southern Pride" thing to try to deflect from this fact by having people who may not have racist attitudes doesn't change the fact that that ignorant ass flag is a symbol of racism and oppression. The fact that you (if you are indeed black) buy into this just proves that there are people too eager to buy into bullshit and ignore history and shit that goes on by some people who rally behind the true meaning of that flag.

The "N" word is a symbol of racism and oppression, yet black people use it everyday.

    What's the difference?

I think people need to stop being overly sensitive.

Yes, the word "NIGGER" is a symbol of racism and oppression, but unlike you and your defense of the Confederate flag, no one is saying it's a symbol of Southern Pride and therefore should be okay to use by proud Southern Whites.

I think some people should pull their heads out of the sand and stop saying/acting as if all the ignorance and stupidity that goes on when it comes to race in America is just a thing of the pass and have no consequences on anything happening in America today.
