just thought i'd share these lyrics. it's one of my favorite songs, ever. it's by a group called dc talk. good stuff. :wink: think we could all take something from it.

I like the lyrics...very thoughtful 8)

 

very well thoughtful, I like the part where it says "vengeance is
the lords", how true, how true that is. Some folks don't know how to grasp
that.

When was that song written? If its 60 or 70 years ago yes but today?

it was written somewhere around 1999-2000ish. it's not using the phrase "colored people" against blacks, it's talking about the human race, and how we are all "colored". hence the line "we're colored people and they call US the human race."

i figured it was pretty self-explanatory.

 

very true, kenny. that's one of my favorite lines too...i just love the whole song, though - the lyrics are very well thought-out, very well-versed.

like NAACP and many black people, colored is still used

I know in South Africa,the mixed race population is called Colored.
