What did he misconstrue? Dude I get the frustration but it had no place in that discussion. Some how his unjustified killing is connected to black on black crime? Everyonr who made comments like that on right wing talk shows made it seem like people arent allowed to care that Treyvon got mattered till the black community cleans up their shit. Talk about disrespectful bullshit

That's why I said I understand it's a different scenario...but the fear response..as well as the response to protect your young are triggered by the same chemical reaction in brain and body. In every human.

It's also why I reserve judgement on him. There are too many variables, as there always are, to understand human behavior completely.
Especially when that human is not you.

no one said they were 'connected.' i just desire more interest and rallying for stemming blacks killing other blacks. to say that type of killing was directly connected/related to trayvon is silly. got damn what kind of dumb-jock do you guys take me for.:smt043

So do I. And take stock of the fact that the mother wasn't going anywhere without her children. The father? He booked it.

you gotta look at the tactical setting

    what was the seating configuration?

    where was the hostile?

how close was he to his family?

how close was his woman to the kids?

    where was the smoke?

    was there significant defilade?

    how many exits?

were there bodies next to him?

did he think they were theirs?

there's so many unknowns at this moment

calling him a coward and chumping him for the rest of his life, without actually knowing what he seen and what went through his mind is awful

i'm really trying to refrain from calling him a coward, as you can see :smt091

    http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2...style-rifle-with-100-round-drum-magazine?lite

i wrote before about the possibility of him using a 100rd type drum magazine, and this article confirms it. looking at the number of shooters (1) and the insanely high number of casualties, that would have been the logical way to outfit yourself. 30rd magazine w/ reloads and taking your eyes off the targets seems more risky. I really don't understand why they're legal in the states they are in. What purpose does a civilian really have with a magazine that allows them to fire 100rd continuously without reloading? that should raise some legal issues.

It doesn't matter the source: when your child is in danger, the natural instinct is to protect your child. For those who don't have kids, you may not understand that yet - the instinct often only kicks in when you become a parent.

Surely this father's 'natural instinct' was to get the hell outta dodge while leaving his whole family to the slaughter

    He perfectly understands ur post

Wondering, do you have to be a parent to understand it, or have it kick in?

I think society has established that not all people have that instinct, just because they are a parent. We'd like to think they do though. This man didn't have it when push came to shove, and the amount of parents who abuse, beat, starve and kill their kids....proves it's only natural in people. (Assuming) the hero Jarell isn't a parent, and his instinct was to protect her child.
