I was at a local Wal-Mart awhile back and was in the sporting goods section. I glanced at the tents and saw this pic on the outside of one of Coleman's tent's on the shelf. At first, I thought maybe the wife was a light skin black woman or spanish. But when I was looking closer, her features look white. The pics are hard to see, next time you in Wal-Mart check it out yourself and let me know what you think.
Actually, I think it does. We just don't notice this. This coleman tent probably has had that graphic for years and nobody noticed it. Also, last night I saw one of those new Toyota commercials. They got a series of commercials with a brunette white chick talking about toyota deals. In one Toyota commercial there is a little bi-racial girl running back and forth chasing after her dog behind the brunette spokeperson. The little girl then approaches the spokeperson as if she is coming to her mother.
I think BB is lucky that tam hasn't ripped out his heart and served it fava beans and chianti on this one. I think I am with you. But I will say I enjoy the pic and wouldn't be so picky as to toss it away from the board. I think some leeway on pics where you can't really tell would probably be the kinder way to go rather than board nazi-ing people. :smt023
It's cool that they did that, but it almost seems like a fluke, unfortunately. Also not realistic, because those kids are too dark to be her kids (or the dad is too light).
LMAO!!! So I'm a board-nazi now? I don't think so, lol. What BBW posted was an inside joke based on a skype convo. I have no issue with BB or this pic...I love him & many of his photo contributions. Like I said in my thread, there was no bitching about him (or the other dozen people who posted the other pic) or asking anyone to remove it...I was sharing what was obvious to me, and I was even nice about it. If someone took it any other way, my bad...just like the folks who posted the pic, it wasn't my intention to offend anyone. As for this pic, she does look like she may be white, and I think it's a nice find.
You can't go by skin color. I've seen plenty of IR couples with kids that are dark. Not all bi-racial kids come out caramel color or caucasian white. That's why I posted the pics in this forum and not anyplace else. Like I said, next time you go to walmart, take a peek over to the sporting goods aisle and check for yourself up close. The pic is not the greatest.
I wasn't saying the kids should be caramel color, blackbull, but you would think they would at least be lighter than the dad if it's supposed to be believable. A guy I'm dating has a little girl that is quite dark brown, but he is very very dark himself.
Very true, BB. When it comes down to it, you can't predict which genes will come into play. My cousin's step-son is extremely dark even though his mom is super pale, and I have a friend whose daughter is really dark...just looking at skin tone you wouldn't guess either of them had white moms. Folks also predicted (and my family worried ) that my son would be darker because his dad is dark, but he didn't turn out that way.
