We aren't questioning if he should get a second chance or not. He should. It is the question of did the punishment fit the crime(2 years for torturing). This is important for everything in the judicial system. So many cases where the punishment does not fit the crime. Where it should be much more punishment. It is just a travesty of justice. Like I said with thump, I agree with tucker's emotion. But just like 2 years is too short, death is too much!
*yawn* U.S. (government) has been torturing people left and right, since the wars started. who's going to punish them? silly brotha gets linked to dog fighting and now he's da bad guy:smt018
I am in heavy agreement of people(I'm not using this "government" cloak because people are behind it all) being prosecuted of crimes that tortured. I also want the punishment to fit the crime.
Fuck it, in that case let fucken Bush stand a trial then, he killed more civillians. Heck let fucken Clerance Thomas stand a fucken trial for sexual harassing someone and getting away with it. The justice system dont work. Two college age black girls rob $ 11 from someone and got life with out parole but some cop who shot someoone in broadday light in NYC willl get a slap on his hand. Get a grip.
I believe Nigeria wants to have a talk with Cheney. I still want to know who Ok'd the infection of hundreds of people in Guatemala with gonorrhea and syphilis without their knowledge or permission and why they haven't been prosecuted. You have to work on making it work. It isn't just to hell with it. man.
that mothafucka got hit over the head with a shotgun for 11 bucks life sentence was too gentle for them broads
I saw the headline but I didn't read the article. I got to go look for it. update: I found this. The sisters were convicted of robbing at gunpoint two men driving them to a nightclub in Forest, north Mississippi, in 1993. They had no prior criminal record. Each was sentenced to two life terms. I mean seriously life terms for robbery. That does not fit the crime. They had no priors. I could see anything less than 30 but not life. What a waste of tax payer money.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101230/ap_on_re_us/us_sisters_pardon_kidney i dont think they actually had anything to do with it physically there were other people with them...they were just the bait... u know guys chase pussy
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_new...-mississippi-women-any-political-implications this one mentions the involvement of three men too yet they got out early...doing like 3 out of 8 years you know they were the ones smacking mothafuckas with the shotty
Life sentences is outrageous. These two women are not harden criminals and now you send them to prison where they will probably learn how to be harden criminals. Makes no sense. I really think there needs to be an overhaul of the justice system. You got a woman smothering man to death and getting 3 years of probation and women involved in robbery and getting life sentences. absurd. a mockery of Justice!
something is wrong with that case tho...the other article mentions three men that had 8 year sentences, that got out after 3. They were the ones the girls led the victims to, yet the girls get life and the guys get off easy. im confused
I got to give the NAACP some credit. They did the right thing. I almost never see them do anything. I also thought they were out of date but they proved me wrong on this. There are so many cases of cruel and unusual punishment for people. They got this one some fame. I don't know what to say about the governor of Mississippi. He may be doing it to look good for 2010 or he may be doing it because it is the right thing to do.
When I heard Tucker Carlson say that, I almost choked on some food....It was a classic hoity-toity white boy sentiment..........You try to give the athletically jealous, masculinely insecure, Whiteman the benefit of the doubt as a fair commentator……….and this is the kind of pompous ignorance you get……………… When you try to think mature,…realizing the need to coexist, get along and understand white men ,You acknowledge the common sense in trying to understand their humor and passions,.. for after-all,…….they might just one day be a business customer or business partner or brother-in-law, or father-in-law……….so it is illogical to carry any kind of continuous grudge and disdain for them………. But Whiteman like Tucker Carlson make it hard………….If you are working in a setting where you are dependent on job security under Whiteman supervision……understand that they are perceptive enough to pick-up on your attitude and sense your resentment and you cannot let a Whiteman like Tucker cause you to lose it……….White men like Tucker Carlson are here to test your resolve…………they will force you to examine your own level of emotional and mental discipline……and in this journey and ambition to date and interact with white women, they will very much be a part of your obstacle course…………..
I dont know if anyone mentioned this cuz I didn't read all the comments, but Carlson is an avid hunter himself. He kills animals too,so if Vick is to be executed,Vick will warm the electric chair for him and he'll go next... Fuck Carlson talking bout, when they've BOTH killed animals for sport...?
Tucker hunts big game with a shotgun, you aint killing no big game with a shotgun on the first shot. You gotta go up close for the "follow up shot" to kill the animal and that many times doesn't even do the trick, even with a head shot. He's killing animals for fun aka sport. Tucker dont be eatin no god damn deer meat,he's killing them cuz he has the desire to kill a living creature. Vick atleast killed dogs cuz they underperformed, sick reason but its a reason. Tucker on the other hand kill animals for the sheer fun of it... If Vick deserves to die then Carlson is up for execution right before Vick.
What Vick did was definitely wrong and deplorable but I've seen FAR less outrage over torture allegations when it comes to things like U.S torture and atrocities committed against foreign nationals, police brutality, the ridiculous amount of rape and abuse that goes unchecked in our prison systems, etc. Hell I remember that white BART cop caught on video who shot a handcuffed, unarmed black man who was laying on the ground in the back killing him, and a lot of whites couldn't stop bending over backwards to try to justify his slap on the wrist sentence (2 years, including time served). Vick kills some dogs and deserves anything from 10 years to execution. According to many of them. While people from all walks of life were disgusted and angry with MV's actions, I can't help but notice the sheer amount of faux outrage that seems to be coming from predominantly white people. As someone stated earlier, I really think the fact that Vick was not only was involved with dog fighting but is now a black ex-con and still managed to get multimillion dollar contract playing in the NFL rubs ALOT of white people the wrong way. I also find it extremely irritating when people in this country seem to equate dogs on the same level as humans, yet when it comes to animal abuse on farms, abuse in slaughterhouses, hunting, horse racing, etc (all things that whites predominantly have a hand in) it's business as usual and not a big deal. I don't see people bending over backwards to outlaw rat poison. I've heard of plenty of people (once again predominantly whites) who are perfectly content to flood gopher holes because god forbid they're lawn isn't pretty. There are a lot of whites out there who will bend over backwards to save a damn dog and toss a minority to the wind without even blinking. That's how little U.S society values us as actual human beings. If I say a cockroach isn't on the same level as a human, no one's going to argue with that. If I say a pig isn't on the same level as a human, no one's going to argue with that. But for some reason dogs are special?? (And lets' not ignore the inconvenient fact that we euthanize 6 - 8 million dogs a year in this country on top of that) I just hope a lot of blacks see through much of the "moral outrage" that's been directed at Michael Vick. Because it's really over the top and has been from the start.
I've never heard of a Tucker Carlson. Obviously he got what he wanted out of the whole ordeal. Attention. People like him make outlandish statements to keep their name relevant.
Tucker is pretty well known. I have to assume you haven't watch msnbc or fox in the early 2000's and late 90's. Tucker made those comments because he meant it. He has nothing to gain. Some might argue his old look with a bow tie is the attention grabber. If he wanted attention, all he has to do is go on the daily show and do the crossfire again(pun).
Tucker backtracks on executing Michael Vick If you don't want to hear all of FOX News bull go to 4:09. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7z4WTFaM40&feature=player_embedded#!
