This is for the science geeks here. Is it possible that a massive solar flare from the sun that we have not experienced yet can take down the world's electrical power grids from it's Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP)? Are we prepared for this? What would it be like that everything that runs on electrical power would be gone worldwide or in certain regions of the world for days or longer? How long would it take to get power back on to cities and nations? Just like to know if someone else is thinking about such a possibility that could happen. If we thought natural disasters like Katrina was something, what would it be like when the conveniences of life are gone.

It would be gone temporarily. We have more to fear from the radiation burst

Interesting. Can you elaborate on the effects of a radiation burst from the sun.
