It looks like George W. Bush and Kanye West have buried the hatchet—at least for now.

In a taped interview on NBC's "Today" show, the often-impulsive rapper told Matt Lauer that he now regrets having said after Hurricane Katrina that Bush "doesn't care about black people."

"I would tell George Bush: In my moment of frustration, I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist," West said. "I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that, we as human beings don't always choose the right words."

In Bush's new memoir, "Decision Points," Bush calls the moment "disgusting" and the lowest ebb of his presidency.

Appearing separately on "Today," Bush, upon seeing a video of West's remarks, replied, "I appreciate that." But he added: "It wasn't just Kanye West who was talking like that during Katrina. I cited him as an example."

Asked if he forgives West, Bush said "absolutely."

"I'm not a hater. I don't hate Kanye West," he said. "But I was talking about an environment in which people were willing to say things that hurt. Nobody wants to be called a racist, if in your heart you believe in the equality of race."

I have to say (Im not a kanye fan) but I agree with Kanye. It was a rude for them to play the video during his attempt to apologize. It is in poor taste especiallly when he is really digging deep to express himself. again I think kanye is a jackass but on this miniscule point he is correct it was rude

Hell no. I'm not going to forgive him. I'm still too angry at him for what he has done during of his presidency of eight years. He could have been better president himself, but no.

I'm not going to forgive him until I feel like our economy is recovering fully, then I'll considering my careful thought to forgive him. He should learned the lesson by now. Back in 2008, it was all about BUSH, BUSH, BUSH, BUSH, BUSH. That's why Obama is our president now.

Not only if President Bush realized his folly of his own actions, then he'd prevented himself from going further! Right now..I'm still too angry with him, period. End of discussion.

However, my grandmother seemed to be very happy to see President Bush finally comes out of the closet to break his silence. Blah....

That is one dumb butt brother for apologizing to Bush about his statement. He hit it on the head and now taking it back. Homeboy is much more than a fool.

I think it is possible that George W. Bush may not be a racist; however, he was a horrible president!

At last nights live performance somehere:

Now Kanye compared Matt Lauer to a child abuser ... pretty much for airing something Kanye actually said (the apology) no pressure no nothing - just for something Kanye actually said, unprompted.

He also went off on Taylor Swift for never defending him... :smt017

He is confusing. First he is sorry to Taylor then about a year later he is not and says you suck. He needs to make up his mind. ;)

    Exactly what I was thinking.

Everytime I think he has some sanity left he does some dumb ass shit like this. Kanye, write a diary or something! You do not need to tell these thoughts to the world.
