The first shows I can remember watching as a child were M.A.S.H., Good Times, Sanford and Son, Chico and the Man, the Jeffersons and All In The Family. My mom loved them and that, other than kids shows, was my world until about age 10 or something, when Diff'rent Strokes and Facts of Life started up.

yeah, i wasn't really into kids shows growing up, it was all: M*A*S*H, welcome back kotter, kenny everett, benny hill, the goodies, good times, on the buses, are you being served etc. i loved the young ones, diff'rent strokes, facts of life, growing pains and family ties lol no accounting for taste.

oh & btw...meeting el presidente is very impressive

I had a chance to work with him briefly 11 years ago, for about 10 months. LOL - Benny Hill: the first time I saw breasts. I waited for the final skit each night because it usually featured some chippy running around topless. Once my mom realized what I was watching, my television had to be turned off by the time it aired, LOL.

love the pic of you and obama...i have met a few celebs...but lippy is not very star struck and the venue i met them would not have been photo opportunities...it would have been while i was working...ownership discouraged anyone on staff from getting too giddy over the meet/greet...must maintain composure...

LOL - this was a long time before he was president, lol. The last time I saw him in the flesh was during his campaign. Obviously I haven't seen him lately! :D

I was not awestruck by the officials because that's part of my job, but the musicians and actors? They had my jaw dropping. I always just said "hey, I like your work", but inside I was like "whoa!". My meeting with Bushwick Bill was really neat too. It was at the neighborhood laundry on the beach. The women who staffed the laundry didn't speak English and they asked me to translate what he was saying. He was very nice and took a pic and even gave me a CD.

    Met

Bridget Moynahan- She is from Western Mass and the cousin of a good friend I use to work with, very nice person.

Bill Cosby- Has a home in western mass, literally bumped into him at a small antique shop.

Shaq, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce- a former acquaintance works for the Celtics and I met them briefly at an event Shaq and Ray are class acts. Pierce, not so much.

Travis Best-he practiced ball at the Springfield JCC during the off season when I worked there. Nice guy..would even shoot baskets with the kids.

Billy Idol- club in NYC back in 1985, my friend and I spotted him and just started a convo, she kissed him. I did not, not knowing where those lips have been LOL

    Encountered

JFK Jr. I was at a Democractice ralley at Mount Holyoke college and he was there and mobbed, but I did shake his hand.

I spotted both David Ortiz and Mark Wahlberg at their respective restaurants they own.

Curt Schilling at player parking for the Red Sox, refusing to sign autographs

Alan Iverson at PCOM practicing, another person who would not sing autographs.

I have noticed since moving to Boston that famous people here kind of blend in and people don;t make a big deal.

OMG you met Hewie!! He use to (many years ago) be my favourite TV chef. Then Heston came along and blew the shit out of everyone else. Mwhahahaha!

The only famous people I've met are The Doug Anthony Allstars and Dr. Harry Cooper. Both really only famous in Australia. I don't think there's been anyone else. Some day I hope to sexually assault Idris Elba though (in the nicest possible way, of course). :smt077

Bridget Moynahan - oooohhh...love her. Lord of War, anyone? Cos? My mother would have loved to be you that day. The Celtics? What? No Heat? No Orlando Magic? Hahaha...

When I left the midwest and moved to Miami, I was blown away by how many famous people just seemed to walking up and down the street (I guess, being a country boy and all, that I thought they all lived in Starsville or something. LOL).

She is a very nice person, I met her at a bridal shower and saw her among family, then again at a baptism....Can't stand Tom Brady as he did her dirty.

Don't really care for thr Celtics, like the Hornets, but the players I briefly met, except Pierce were classy.

Only Boston team I like is the Red Sox
