I'm here for another week, and will hopefully be back to live for a little white within six months.
By the way, Sarah, I just did a 2 week loop of Scotland. It's lovely. It was fun seeing all the land my family is from, after hearing so much for all my life.
My favourite was Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh and Skye.

Does being half of a rideshare with a former Londoner.............

.....and going to lunch every Friday with another ex-Londoner that looks like Emma Peel.........

    .....count for anything?

My little US community is about 10% British ex-pat or dual-citizen. I love The Blues in Premier League.

And, I watch Newsnight with Jeremy Paxman whenever there is a big international story.

Count for anything? Or am I just another born and bred American?

You support the blues...You must mean Everton, how unfortunate for you..lol. Arsenal is the way to go way..

Anyway Paxman is the don when it comes to interviewing. Calls a spade, spade, no fluffy being Mr nice guy. I have never understood why politicians go on his show though, he always ruins them.If I was in politics thats the last guy I would want to interview me..He is super smart.

The most tragic thing was when he interviewed Dizzee Rascal about Obama and he was calling him blud. Lol. It was pretty funny, I thought they'd atleast get someone like Bashy.

    I love Paxman.

    Aren't the blues Chelsea??

Only reason I know that is because Chelsea have many sexy footballers :yawinkle:.

We don't have a Paxman here. I love his work....For a news junkie, he can be addictive.

The closest we had was the late Tim Russert, who unfortunately passed away just as Obama won the primary election. All of us were cheated from not having his political insight and interviewing skills.

Can we borrow Paxman for a while??? LOL!

    :smt002 - You are funny....but honest.

They are so much fun to watch, esp. when playing Manchester United. It's like watching guys play football at 90mph.

But ok, I suppose they look great, too.....LOL!

haha..wish we could lend him to you, but dont think there is a worthy replacement. Saw some guy called Bill O' Reilly on Youtube conducting some interviews...you can keep him...lol. came across as the clown of all clowns.Reserve full judgement until I see more interviews!

    Swaziking:

You had to bring him up. What a complete embarrassment!

There is absolutely no need to reserve judgment. O'Reilly truly is "the clown of clowns" when it comes to journalism (I had a difficult time typing the word journalism because he's more of an "entertainer" than a reporter).

He's part of the reason my country is in the shape it's in. We have too many people that take what he says very, very seriously. You may be aware that we are the ONLY country in the entire world that pays any attention to him and wingnuts like him.

Please accept my apologies on behalf of the sane half of America. You should not have endured such pollution of the airwaves.

We had Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite to combat these buffoons in past years. Unfortunately, there is no one around like that today. All we have to fight the madness is another entertainer/reporter in Keith Olbermann.

Oh well; at least we still have the Washington Post!

FYI: There is a movie out about our late ex-President, Richard Nixon, and David Frost. Frost was given the assignment of interviewing the banished Nixon and turned in a great performance that is recreated in the movie.

It's called (appropriately) Frost/Nixon. Here is a link to it:

    http://www.frostnixon.net

I don't know if it's made it's way across the Atlantic. But if it hasn't, it will.

    I plan on seeing it.
