Tony Hayward attends posh English yacht race as a break from Gulf oil spill crisis


BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward's boat, "Bob," sets sail Saturday in England.

He finally got his life back. Embattled BP chief executive Tony Hayward took a break Saturday from manning his company's massive Gulf Coast oil spill to attend a posh yacht race along a pristine British coast. "It's a well-known event in the British calendar. He's entitled to private time with his family," said BP spokesman Robert Wine.

Hayward - who infamously admitted, "I'd like to get my life back," following the horrific spill - was attending the glitzy JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race along the sparkling, oil-free Isle of Wight. He was photographed aboard his yacht, the Bob, sporting a black windbreaker and a cap emblazoned with the Rolls-Royce logo. The 52-foot yacht, made by an Annapolis, Md.-based boatbuilder with a list price of nearly $700,000, was one of more than 1,700 boats competing in the 50-nautical-mile race.
