Amongst other reasons, def makes me want to move back west.

 

-Irish from Ireland really dont have beef with us, as they dont have that much history with ppl of african background.

-Irish Americans, especially Bostonians are pricks.

-The Irish and Italians were treated real bad by other whites in the 1800's. They even had signs that said No Irish or dogs allowed. Since they were put down by others so they had to find someone to look down and mistreat and guess who they found? Eventually these two groups got acceptance into mainstream America and now considered part of the White America.

-Like Satyr mentioned lots of these ethnic neighborhoods are a lot more prominent in East coast but there're some ethincly oriented cities in the Midwest as well, i.e Chicago, Milwaukee, etc...

-The west is a lot more chill and liberal and would say accepting.

 

Tell that to the blacks who are being murdered by the thousands by Mexicans.

People in general are a mixed bag, but for arguments sake I will say I have noticed differences in Mexicans depending on where they live in the US. Most Mexicans I know in the Chicago (and most of the midwest) area tend to be pretty cool with black people. I tend to run into the "We can joke around and be friends, but if you fuck my daughter I'll kill you" type and I've ran into the "Lets stick together" type. The latter of the two really doesnt care for the most part if you have sexual relations with their women because theres a good chance that their messing with black girls etc.

The Mexicans I meet from certain pockets of the southeast and southwest tend to be the ones that have a grudge against black folks.

Ps Everything Ive said is from personal experience and from others observations.

Motherfucker when I want credible information I read the news not message boards, and until you can pull up a reliable news source showing black people being killed "by the thousands" on the west coast, you sincerely need to shut the fuck up.

In Gangs of New York, I will tell you as a teacher and a former history major that it is pretty accurate. The Irish Brigade was one of the most decorated groups in the Union Army, BUT Irish Americnas also had the HIGHEST desertion rate in the Union Army.

Sometimes I feel bad at my distain for people that share my enthnicity, byt then again, their ancestors came over during the famine in the 1840s. They are fully American and have developed their own "culture". Thye have nothing to do with me and my upbringing and Ireland today. Also they know nothing for the most part but their own little neighborhoods.

Dublin only bagan a parade about 20 years ago for the MICK tourists. I remember as a kid it was a day off school, Mass and a family dinner, yeah the adult might down a few pints, but no dying rivers green and puking up Guiness like they do in Southie

 

BoSoxLady,after seeing movies like the Fighter and The Town I recommend the homeboy to go to Dublin or somewhere in Ireland since it would be less drama to find women who look like Amy Adams.

I'm a migrant to Boston. Saw the Town with a local, have yet to see the Fighter. From what my friend said the Town was balls on accuarate.

First off, let me address Bosoxlady's quote. The Town was mostly bullshit. Charlestown is NOT the bank robbery capital of the country. There is also no way you could have a 5 minute car chase in the middle of the North End. In the movie they drive down my friends street, and the bank they rob is actually a laundramat around the corner. The streets are way too fuckin narrow to corner an SUV at 40 mph. Hollywood....

Now as for Boston being the capitol of racism in the East; Here's the view from someone born and bred here, 30 years in the making.

First, to the dude who asked where to find white women to date: The answer is the same as anywhere else. Ask a chick out and see if she's down. I've never had a problem and 97% of the women I have ever dated are white, which is kinda why i hang out on these boards....

As for racism. I will say yes, in some areas, it is MORE PREVALENT than others. Now here's the shit you outsiders DON'T KNOW and Hollywood shitheads don't convey in their shitty Boston movies: Racism is Everywhere.

Case in point: 10 months out of the year, the population of Boston doubles due to the 30 some odd schools of higher education within the metro area (over 120 in the state). You have kids from all over the country and TRUST ME, the moment they see you with a white girl, your gonna hear the occasional racist shit they were brought up with from whatever gutter ass part of the country they migrated from. Its Not Just Southie Irish.

I take offense to that statement PERSONALLY. Some of my closest boys are born and bred in Southie, and I'll knock anyone out that messes with em, and they got my back the same way. Allston, Charlestown, Cambridge, whatever, I got people everywhere and we all know people who will throw around the "N" word occasionally. It doesn't actually make em racist. Only to oversensitive brothas who think all white people are out to get em.

See, what you don't understand is, in Boston, you have to have a thick skin. If you don't, your not gonna survive, period. People shoot off at the mouth sometimes. It happens. However, you can't cry racism around here every time some white dude at a party says, "hey, what's up my nigger??" after doing a kegstand on the porch out back. They are just spouting off words that they have heard their grandparents use (while they were drinking) during their whole childhood and simply don't understand the power of the word. Also, don't believe I'm some kinda token motherfucker either. I'm just that dude that has to stay on the even keel and say, "bro, don't say that again in my presence, it's not fucking cool". Usually, that's the end of it as I'm in the house of someone I consider a friend and they got my back.

I could go on and on, but I think I got the message across. I'll end with saying to PettyJay that I don't even consider any part of Boston off limits. I have walked into the grungiest dive bars around Boston and never felt like people were gonna grab a noose and try to hang me. It's common knowledge that if you walk into a locals bar in southy, everyone turns toward the door. It's just a thing cause they usually know everyone that ever walks through the door. If they don't know you, it's not like they are thinking, who's that black guy. It's "who's that guy. I don't know that dude and it's a locals bar." I actually love how close nit the communities are. We keep to our own. Cliquey I know.
