A more serious question(s), do you believe that a lot of the bickering and angry rants that black men and black women have over interracial relationships and issues in the black community are just apart of the growing pains of a community that is apart of a society that is becoming more and more racially integrated and diverse everyday?

Or, is it more proof that these are problems that were already there and interracial relationships are used as a reason to sound off about them?

I personally think it is a little bit of both. A quote from Dark Knight sort of explains it. "The night is darkest, just before the dawn." After that, while everyone won't be happy, as there is no pleasing everyone. I believe we'll see a time when black, white and etc. will be so integrated and united that it won't be a thing for someone to date outside their 'race'. However, for now I guess there will continue to be videos on youtube, articles full of criticisms and finger pointing in relation to a gender/race's(i.e. black male, black female, white female, white male, etc.) reasons for dating interracially. Or in the case of the comments above, reasons for being hated by society and being the enemies of a community. lol....

 

The ones who are arguing in this manner on MTO are not integrating, they are uneducated or low class (culturally or economically). The anti IR discourse among middle class or educated Black people is more in the line of "successful Black women can't find a man", "notions of solidarity" "White Supremacy made you do it"...etc. Those folks should be regarded differently than those arguing over whatever slim thug says.

I think IR dating is just used as a scapegoat and as an excuse for the current state of Black relationships. I think if you took away IR, the same issues would still be there.

Wow, I think I'd actually watch another Big Mama's House movie before the whole "God Send Me A Man" movie. Heck, I think I'd watch two or three more Big Mama sequels before that movie/play, or whatever it is.

 

I will NOT see either movie/play there's too many films with black men in drag. Also I thought Robin Givens was chased out of the black community after what she did to Mike Tyson.
