wait...we need to substantiate this baseless accusation with facts just going on ur 'gut' isnt reliable
Always a good idea to substantiate any position you choose to make... well if you expect anyone to take you seriously that is. I don't take anyone's word for anything, I look it up myself. A lot of what's wrong with the world is due to the sheeple mentality. People need to start thinking for themselves, and not just assuming other people have the right answers. :smt011 As for the thread topic, I still fail to see why this is noteworthy. Even if you look at the UK study, it's a small difference. If you're an asset to a company or organization, and you bust your ass and do an outstanding job, they aren't gonna care if you're bald, they're going to pay you well.
anyone that needs a 100-page report explaining to them that whites out-earn blacks on average, in the US.......... im not even going to say it:smt095
I didn't say I thought that wasn't the case, I suggested that if you intend make suggestions you'll be taken more seriously if you back them with fact, instead of innuendo.
It's like tall men earning more than shorter ones. As if tall men are smarter or better workers than short men.
Esp if I had to guess I think this is related to entry level jobs where people are very likely to be hired based on physical appearance since they don't have much experience yet.
I think it would be better if they didn't use the term out earn because it leads to people to believe its based on merrit when its purely superficial.
Is this a 'STUDY' based on porn stars or something? Because if it is, then you're probably right. If it's not, I call BS. Just like with everything you post. Espy, I'd like to see a credible UK study, let alone American. The thread is complete bullshit though. Standard Denzbenz, although bullshit news is getting a bit boring now.
Because it is. Since when does hair colour dictate how much you earn? Absolutely pathetic and untrue argument. Believe it if you want, but I know better.
So you don't think that being attractive has anything to do with getting a job especially an entry level one? Its like JC said about taller men out earning shorter ones. You don't think there's truth to that?
So blonde instantly means attractive? The post never said anything about being attractive, it was talking about hair colour, from a VERY unreliable source. What does being attractive have to do with hair colour? There have also been plenty of unreliable poles from the same sources that Denzbenz uses about how brunettes are now viewed as being more attractive. If this was a pole entitled 'attractive people earn more' then I'd agree, but it's not, so I don't.
I don't buy this MF, and my personal experience doesn't lead me to believe that's the case. Anytime I interviewed someone, I was interested in their qualifications and personality. I've hired people with what I deemed to be the right attitude and work ethic over someone with more qualifications, because ultimately my primary goal was to get someone who would do the job. Appearance was something I didn't consider, beyond determining if they were clean and tidy. As far as being the one being hired, I don't buy that attraction plays that big a part in it either. Different physical features appeal to different people, there really is no one universal standard for attractiveness, so even if someone says they hire people that they find attractive, that doesn't mean everyone else would think them attractive as well. As Russia mentioned, blonde is not synonymous with attractive either, some prefer redheads or brunettes. It's just too subjective to quantify IMO. I've been offered every job I've ever interviewed for, including entry level positions, and that's because I'm good at what I do and can convey that confidently to a potential employer, I don't think it has anything to do with what I look like. People don't want pretty idiots, they want competent employees.
Do I really have to tell you blonde= attractive in this fake plastic world? Come on please look around. I don't see as many women dying their hair brown or black as they are blonde my friend. Asking what hair color has to do with being attractive is the same as asking what eye color or skin color has to do with being attractive. Who the fuck knows it just is.
Esp you make a great point but we do not live in ideal world. We live in superficail world. Looks gets you not just a job but a great job. Might not keep you there but will get you there. Looks gets you to top school, great clubs, so on and on. Hair color, eye color, height, weight, fashion style, accent, diction, speech pattern, race, religion affiliation matter-Dont ask me why but they do. It is the nature of the beast. Some companies pay blondes or blue eyed persons more as the same reason why some companies prefer to hire a British secretary over an American. My 0.2 cents, anyhoo, Happy New year, my friend!
