Blondes Earn More Than Brunettes And Redheads, Says Study

They often say that blondes have more fun, and now a new study says that they rake in the most amount of dough, too.

Conducted by the U.K.'s Superdrug chain, the study found that ladies with lighter locks earn about $870 more per year than their brunette or redhead counterparts, reports UK's The Daily Mail.

The study analyzed the earnings of 3,000 working British women, and found that the average blonde takes home about $35,650 a year, compared to $34,780 for brunettes, and $34,380 for redheads.

Even though the blondes earned a higher salary, the most common complaint among the women was that they don't feel they're taken seriously at work. Yet, many of the surveyed blondes confessed that they didn't mind the ditzier stereotype, and in some cases, even play it up to their advantage.

"Traditionally, the stereotype of a blonde is that she is maybe a little ditzy and a bimbo, but this shows they are the higher earners," says Simon Comins, director of toiletries at Superdrug.

"Over a lifetime, earning $600 pounds [approx $924] more a year can really add up, so blonde women really are having the last laugh," adds Comins.

lol you wrong for that, cuz

i know women have it a bit harder than men in general, but keep it real

a sista's going to have to hump a heavier load on average, because of the way this country is. they're under-exposed in media, fashion, government, all that.

Benz posted it so naturally it's a UK study. I'd have to see one conducted by a legitimate organization in the US before I'd consider this credible information. Personally I've been blonde, redhead, and brunette and earnings didn't really vary because of it.

Nice to know that people are concentrating their efforts on studying important matters of such global significance though.

    uh oh, it's a wo-man!

    head for the hills, brothas

but..without even relying on facts or stats..id say blonds earn more in the US..

kinda like saying poking myself in the eyes with a 10 inch diamond-studded candybar will hurt, and just knowing that it's true (how many studies or polls have their been on those incidents:rolleyes:)

    1. This is not the Men's Locker room Petty... it's In The News, and believe it or not some women actually do read stuff in this section.

    2. Since when is it a good idea to guess without relying on any facts or stats, and then act on that assumption? That's pretty much what all the ignorant mfers that come here to troll do... and you see what an intelligent & credible bunch of folks they are.

Good for you. I prefer a more informed approach when possible. But really how much earnings vary among hair color isn't something I consider earth shattering enough to go dye my hair blonde.

You don't care about it either, you just like to seize every opportunity to argue with women.

    or

    http://www.foxnews.com/health/2010/04/05/study-blondes-earn-money-marry-richer-husbands/

Aussie study that used 13,000 participants, in comparison to the Brit one that used 3,000

I'm willing to be a similar study in the US would net identical results. The figures will be different, but the end result will be the same.

unless of course, we're just that different than the UK/Australia (imagine that)

i'm not arguing..i'm just saying some stuff is obvious, without even having to plod around for studies and surveys.
