Look for ya boy Blair Underwood on the season premiere of "The new adventures of old christine" He is playing a teacher that julia-luis dreyfuss's character has the hots for.
Really?? She does?? You're talking about Elaine from Seinfeld right?? She likes black guys?? By the way, i always wondered, is she Jewish??
She is Elaine from Seinfeld. Don't know if she's into brothas for real, but it doesn't matter because she's married to a Hollywood director, I believe. He wrote and directed her first short-lived sitcom "Watching Ellie" a few years back. At the time, it had the unique feature of no studio audience and filming with only one camera. But they changed it in the second season and the show tanked. And as far as whether she's Jewish, I couldn't tell you. But I always presumed she was. Either that or Italian. But, with respect to her show, I tried to give "Christine" the old college try and didn't like the chemistry of the show. Her comedy as a single mother just doesn't do it for me. But I hope the show survives anyway. She's a talented actress. And I would like to see a relationship between her and Blair start up. She is a pretty woman.
Her grandfather is french/jewish. Even before Seinfeld she was set financially. Her dad is a billionaire.
When is this show coming on? I had never heard of this show until I watching the NFL games yesterday. But I did annoy some people by mentioning Blair and Julia on a site where many of its members don't like seeing black men with white women. Peace. ________ “Tonight, Daddy won't read you a story -- you can watch him in a story.” - Blair Underwood
Cris, i'll bet you 20 dollars he's talking about IMDB. (Internet Movie Database). It's a site that supposed to be all about movies and t.v. shows, but if you go to any part and mention IR or even any black man period you are likely to get responses that would make racist site look tame. If Blair and Julia hook up on the show just go to IMDB and type in either Julia Louis Dreyfuss or the name of her show and hit "search". Then make sure you're at least 3 feet away from your screen because the hate filled flames will burn anything too close to the monitor. BTW...Once you've located the movie, actor or show you want to reasearch, the message board is usually located toward the bottom of the page.
Shaft2k4 is right. The site I'm talking about is IMDB.com. That site has profiles of just about every movie and actor/actress you can think of. They also have message board sections where you can discuss the movies and actors. In order to begin posting there, you have to sign up (it's free to join). The name I use there is clogan8307. I'm usually posting on the "Something New" message board because there are a lot of people there who complain about black men with white women, but at the same time they applaud the black women who interracially date. I get into a lot of debates there when all I'm trying to tell them is that if it's ok for one side to do it, then you shouldn't have a problem when the other gender does it. I also sometimes check out the "Heidi Klum" and "Brittany Daniel" boards, where half of the posters are upset about them dating Seal and Keenan Ivory Wayans. I often post on the "When the Levees Broke" board. When I tire of the racial issues, I post in boards of some of my favorite movies and tv shows. Peace.
Hollywood knows Blair is notorious for the "interest of WW " role in many shows. Like the L.A.X. show he did with Heather Locklear (which got cancelled after 1 season or less, I think). In Sex And The City when he was Miranda's flirtatious friend w/ chemistry. Although, she never ended up doing anything besides kissing. It seems, WW like Blair.
Has anyone noticed these two things, apart from me: 1) That white people in general tend to like black men who are not married to white women or have shown no interest in white women as opposed to black men who are dating/marrying white women eg. Denzel, Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, Blair Underwood etc. They also tend to be more ready to cast BM with WW if the black man is not with a WW. 2) This one is less trivial but anyway....... whenever they are doing all those nonsense "Top 10 sexiest/hottest/or whatever the case may be" and a black man is there, they rarely show a white woman complementing his looks. For example, in the space of three days, i've for some reason watched on E! on of those rubbish countdowns and 50 Cent, LL COOL J, Tyson Beckford, Eddie Murphy, Denzel, Will Smith and Boris Kodjoe have been there. However, the closest thing they've shown is Tara Reid and Paris Hilton saying how 50 is their favorite "singer". They do complement black men all right but its either they show another black woman complementing him or they're saying something not related to his looks. Hell, they even put white men but try to stay away. However, white men, white women and black men complement if it's a black woman. If its a white man, white women and black women. If its a white woman however, they'd show at least 2 black men talking about how much they think (INSERT WHITE HOLLYWOOD STAR/SINGER) has got it going on. Ridiculous? Be the jugde.
Ummm.... On SATC, Blair Underwood's character, Dr. Robert Leeds was Miranda's full-blown boyfriend... they had sex and all that - Steve (Miranda's ex) walked in on them in one episode. (Oh that was funny....) Dr. Robert even told Miranda he loved her... on a giant cookie! (Another funny moment!) Oh how I miss that show!!
Pearl, get the episodes where Blair appears. It is no doubt better than Sam's flings of a brother who got cold feet when his sister found out.
Hey Chris, i don't necessarily have a response to your first question, but it definitely struck up a chord, and i'll have to think about that one a little bit. Oh yeah, whose the chick in your signature?? she's hoootttt!!! she could probably do without the digital booty though.
With respect to #1, I'd imagine you're talking about the casting process in Hollywood as well ass producers and directors of movies and tv shows. If so, yeah I agree that many of them generally hire the brothas who have very little affiliation with WW. I guess the thought process is that viewers are quicker to accept a brotha who they know would not generally go after white broads in his private life. As for #2, ABSOLUTELY right on target. I can't tell you how many commercials or shows I watch where if the brotha is usually a sex symbol (Shemar Moore, Will Smith, Denzel...), the rule is white women usually don't comment on how hot he is unless a black chick is there to validate it with her. But there is a double standard for everyone else. All women can speak about white men and vice versa. But a brotha can only call a WW hot or sexy when a white dude is around. Maybe a related example. A while back during a Lakers game (during the Kobe rape thing), Nicole Richie was quoted saying (screaming), "I wanna have sex with Kobe!" Now, I know it would never have made FOX news because of the sex reference, but there was really no mention of it anywhere except from the guys on Pardon the Interruption. But when Britney Spears mentioned that she liked Luke Walton on the team, that seemed widely reported. That's just my assessment.
Not to criticize you, but why waste your energy trying to reason with people who obviously have their minds made up about what IR should be?? It's taken a bit for me to accept that alot of people in this country seem to only have a problem when black men date outside our own race and not anybody else, even black women. Talk about a messe up doube standard. But face it. Those people's minds aren't going to change. Though, I'd like to know their racial make up and who they're dating behind the scenes.
I completely agree w/ you Cris. I too have seen those top 100 shows and BM get no love. But you and I both know it's no coincidence that it happens. O well, situations like that are out of our control.
