Used to go there religiously (many years ago). Definately remember the bitter sistas (and couldn't take it anymore). There was always a chat room created by WW, though (which was where I'd end up hanging out)...
I met one of my favorite boyfriends on BP I've also met some people from there that weren't so much my favorite. As it's been said before, just be careful. It's not so much a social site anymore. Most people just use it for dating/finding someone to "share" their bed with for a little while
i have a profile on there but all my pics get rejected ( and no they arnt naked pics ) so i get left messages telling me to get back to them when i can be bothered to post my pic

Robina, LOL i know you what you mean about the picture thing on BP. I have been a member for a long time and i dont visit as much as i use too but as a male i will get random emails from women who will say WHERE IS YOUR PICTURE when you get one get back to me. Eugene

I still visit Blackplanet here and there... Turned into a real shit hole. 2002-2003 Blackplanet.com was the biggest social networking website...It's a real shame too because they could of been what Facebook is today. I'm actually in bee-ti-ful86's group.
RIGHT....BP could have been the facebook of today but they let the zoo animals run the place. There was no control, no direction...it was just out there. Then when BP switched gears and put all those things into place black folk rejected it. I actually think that structurally its even better than it was at its height. I still go there from time to time.
Smh i used to go there a lot and i had so much hate from there because i was african i could not believe it.
I'm still on BP but the people is kinda ridiculous. I go check everynow and then just to make a laugh at people with broken english and african gold diggers that want to marry u. Last year these days I met a very special person there though, so I guess it's matter of luck.
