From what I've seen...here's how it goes:

Black women that I've seen in Texas seem to go for the darker bruhs...but you don't see a ton of light-skinned cats in Dallas

White women almost always go for more "Africanized" looking BM....I have never seen a WW (at least in my area) walking with a BM that was lighter than Will Smith...usually they go for the Taye Diggs look....chocolate but sort of baby-faced....occasionally a Morris Chestnut will enter the fray but rarely....and never a Terence Howard.

 

In London, I couldn't tell the difference between a Jamaican man (for example) and a Nigerian man (for example - I've used examples from two huge diasporas here), except perhaps by accent, by clothes, or by name. And even then it can be hit and miss. If you take a country like Nigeria - I have a number of close Nigerian friends, and a Nigerian boyfriend - four or five people from the same country will be very ethnically diverse and have very different skin tone, facial features, build, etc.

 

Hey Chosen youve pretty much proven why Africans tend to be Darker on average than guys from NY. It seems brother Malikom isnt familiar with geography, and that the closer you are from the equator the darker you will be, especially if you are of African descent.

BM from LA also tend to be darker than NY brothers. Even white people from texas tend to be darker than whites up north for fuck sakes.....

even tupac was way lighter when he lived in new york (juice) than he was when he moved to LA (poetic justice)....

So obviously africans will be darker than african americans....DUH

But you take an african american to africa. Especially a guy like tyrese. I swear noone will ask him where hes from,,,,,,that is until he opens his mouth

BMJ, its obviously not an exact science, so to a large extent its going to be subjective.Not everyone is going to be able to tell the difference.
But I stand my ground and say there is a difference in appearance in relation to a majority of african blacks and american blacks. 8)

 

To me this guy looks african..I'd even hazard to guess central african..

I really don't understand why we should have this argument ... Here i was born in central africa , i don't know how much of the negroid feature i have that makes me different to african americans ... Anyway i am always against the racial segregation of any form.

Sorry this pic was taken with my low resolution webcam and poor lighting , so can you guys tell me witch of my face feature makes me different to african americans ?

 

Its obvious to me there is never gonna be a common consensus on this. Some people are taking this personally.And no matter what anyone says, my opinion was never intended to be devisive in any way. Its an observation, like some people claim they can tell the difference between the way chinese and japenese people look. Anyway i'm done with this thread 8)

i have an uncle who was in the air force, who claims that he can tell the difference between them, btw swazi..

as for me..sometimes I can tell if a guy is japanese...other times, I can't
