I also agree with Swaziking and Petty and Shy, there is a difference.

And there is a difference, to me, between European whites vs. American whites. It's not an exact science, but 8 or 9 times out of 10, I can tell just by looking at the face, whether that person was born in Europe or America. As I'm sure Europeans can tell who the Americans are, by looking just at faces (and not the clothing and shoes  ).

There isn't anything wrong with it, it's really just about location, location, location.

You can usually tell the difference between African Blacks, and American Blacks by looking at their facial features/and obviously skin tone some of the time.Even dark dudes like tyrese, one with a trained eye can tell the diff.I have a hard time telling the difference between alot of Africans and Jamaicans though.

I don't really go for light-skinned black women...I'm sort of an extremist...pale skin, blue eyes and dark hair or chocolate skin and eyes that are the color of Coca-Cola.

My biggest thing is hair...it doesn't have to be long...I just want a girl that is capable of growing more hair than I am.

That's not to say I have anything against light-skinned BW...they just don't do it for me.

As for Alek Wek...if we judged people based on Sudanese standards of beauty...Beyonce, Tyra, Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria etc. would be considered...to quote a Republican senator..."dog food that needs to be taken off of the shelves."

I don't judge beauty by one metric.....beauty must be measured in relation to the environment it was cultivated in. Obviously everyone can have preferences....and often times most people preferences line up with anything European....that has nothing to do with European features being inherently more attractive....but it's sort of a "to the victor goes the spoils" argument. If China had maintained their impressive Navy in the 15th century....and colonized the world instead of retreating....our view of what is "beautiful" would be vastly different.

As for differentiating between African blacks and American blacks....it all depends.

I've seen some Africans that are hardly distinguishable from an American (generally Nigerians fall under this category) and I've seen some that clearly stand out.

Considering the average "black" American is nearly 20% white....our features are going to be somewhat blended. Add to that the fact that many blacks can claim substantial Native American blood.....

From what I've seen...West and some Central Africans can look like any black American...obviously because that's where the bulk of the trans-Atlantic slave trade took place. It's not a stretch for us to resemble some of our distant cousins.

North, East and Southern Africans will never be mistaken for black Americans.

It's all in the features....you won't see many(if any) Africans with gray, green or even blue eyes.......not many black Americans either...but I've seen a few including the "green-eyed bandit" radio personality Donnie Simpson.

This is what I was trying to get across on my original post. Essentially what was coined as 'Americaniz' features.

Now on a lighter note, I'd be suprised to see an american that looked like this or rapped as good as this;)

Did you mean it literally when you said rapped as god as him? Or was there some irony? After seeing the video I think it was ironic :)

Alot of Black women are always hostile towards Black women with light skin. Its like they are jealous and have an inferiority complex or something. You hear it all the time from light skin black women who talk about how dark skinned black women hate on them and etc.Jealous because they got that "good hair" and that all the dudes pay attention and hit on the light skinned chicks and dont even look their way.We dont have that type of jealousy among Black men.I think thats also something that white mothers/black fathers need to prepare their little mulatto girls for.Hatred from other jealous Black girls.
Black women also hate on brothers who date light skinned black women. Its like a black man cant do shit without some black women opening their mouths.

Its like you have to date some whoopi golberg look alike to get them to shut up

If you spend anytime on mixed raced blogs you'll find that many of the females will inevitably mention that their black fathers constantly tell them they are better than black women because of their skin. Growing up with that mindset and expecting blacks only to defer to you on the sole basis of color will always cause problems. I would have a hard time being associated with a man who thought nothing of pitting women against each other because I will not return the favor and do likewise when it comes to white men, and most of us will not.

He looks AA to me

Africans tend to have stronger "negroid" facial features than Black americans(darker skin tone as well most of the time obviously) and some Carribeans. The only Black African people that ive seen that closely resemble alot of AA's,are the igbos in Nigeria and supposedly those are suppose to be Black americans ancestors......
