Yes....a lot of us are known for our loud ways. Hop on the train in South London; guess who has the music blaring out Loud on their headphones? Enter Macdonalds, guess who's talking about who they f*cked last night(loudly)...and lastly who made a scene when the ticket inspector asked them to remove their feet of the chairs...the answer:black boys...yes I know other races are loud as well. But when in a group, I doubt there is any louder race...Anyone heard this stereotype about black people being loud? I am specifically talking about western blacks..
Yeah .. it probably is a social thing, but I am beginning to think its a stereotype a lot of people have of black people...even if you google it, you get a few hits on it.
It is though because not all blacks are loud.Just a few loud ones make a lot of people think that we are mostly loud.
Well, I'm not black, but I am loud, people are always telling to quiet down when I get the least bit excited. But yeah, I have a lot of very loud Black friends. So there is some basis to the cultural thing, but the black fellow I worked with recently and his wife from Kenya were very quiet and almost shy. So it's definitely cultural. But the TV sitcoms help to perpetuate it.
Some of these African women are very quiet... others loud and outspoken. I remember them walking down 116th Street in Harlem in their traditional garbs and TATATATATATATATATATA!
Mofo's sitting in the movie theater when they're cellphones go off...but no one says anything to them. lol
But how long had they been there? Lots of people are quiet in a new environment. During my time in Kenya, I find bars, shopping centres, busses, family gatherings to be very noisy, and I like it. Same with Botswana. There are always those sitting quietly too though. I'm broad brushing, but usually find that Africans generally do it with much more aplomb- time and a place and all that. Not sure about the stereotype, I don't think you can categorise any group that widely.
Hadn't thought of this one..Could possibly be true. Other non-white groups dont seem to have this loud steoreotype though; like South Asians and Chinese people.. its an interesting point though.
everyone can be loud in certain situations it doesnt have to link to their specific race. Why does people stereotype other people, it makes no logical point........:smt021
Being loud can be just a sign of being ignorant or unaware of other peoples feelings in situations. They can be doing it just to be noticed because they are craving for attention. People have to be aware that people do unusual things because they just dont know any better.
