I listen to rock (favorite type of music), electronica, trip-hop, jazz, punk rock, and the lists goes on and on. I listen to music that sounds good to my ears. My favorite bands are Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and many others. I grew up listening to grunge and alternative rock and I didn't start listening to rap until I was 13 (1997). I hate gospel music (I am atheist). I do listen to R&B, reggae and rap/hip-hop.

Many blacks call me a "sellout" because I listen to "white music." I am listening to MGMT "Electric Feel" right now. I had a CD collection and some of the white women I hung out with were like, "Damn, you listen to Ryan Cabrera, Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morissette, Stone Temple Pilots, David Bowie and even the Beatles? Now I know how to call when I need to borrow music."

I am a very diverse person and I love to learn about other peoples cultures and backgrounds. Listening to Jeff Buckley (incredible singer) is like listening to R. Kelly to me. No big difference. I have so much music I uploaded on my computer (16,000) that would surprise so many people. Do any of you listen to music and you feel you are stereotyped because of your personal taste?
