That is so true, Bryant. I went with a friend of mine, he is as tall as I am (6'4) but he couldn't say a single word of Russian, so it was very difficult for him. He struggled and girls often showed no patience with him when they couldn't speak English. I on the other hand was able to break the ice with almost all females I run into by saying a few phrases in Russian. Most seemed amused and appreciated the effort I was making. One even said" You speak Russian with a French accent"

But naturally, your chances of success will increase if you meet those who can speak English fairly well, and those are the ones who usually are interested in foreign men, and I mean, very interested

Not speaking the language just decrease your chances dramatically because most of these women are not comfortable at all with people who don't speak their language. In Kiev, about 80% of the population speak Russian, in Crimea, I've heard it's 100%. So you will get away with learning Russian since it's widely spoken compared to Ukrainian and it can help you with other countries that were once part of the USSR as well.

So I went ahead and enrolled in The Beverly Lingual Institute and starting July 8th, I will be learning Russian every Wednesday at 6:00 PM in a 80 minutes class. I've heard Russian is a very difficult to learn, but I am up for the challenge, and I have a hell of a motivation to learn

Wow, how much does it cost to enroll in the Beverly Institute? I would love to enroll in a place like that and learn Russian if Rosetta Stone proves to be ineffective. And yeah, the hardest part about the Russian language for me is the alphabet, because it has accrylic type symbols in it. I do think with a lot of time and hard work, it can be learned though.

 

Nope NONE.... Eastern Euro is undiscovered country for American Black Males. I liked it, I went "deep down, inside" and will return to hopefully stake my claim.

 

Is it worth it though?

Unless you want wider access to women, I don't think you need to know more than a few phrases. Plus I think a better investment would be to send your girl to English classes in Russia, which is quite expensive. Where you going to be most often? Russia? I doubt it, more than likely the US so she needs English more than you need to know Russian.

If you have any long term goals, you'll agree with me because one of the most diffcult periods of adjustment for CSI (or former Soviet States) and Russian women in America is learning English and living in Western Culture which most have only seen on TV.

Its sooo much easier if she has moderate English speaking skills. I met a Moldavian women a few days ago who met her husband on My Space of all things, she spoke English quite well, though far from fluent.

What's funny is that is not the first CSI/Russian women I have seen at my job, it seems some of the men in Simi Valley have gone down that route...

ACartoon, I'm sorry you are unable to travel to Russia in peace. A brother alone is like fresh meat to sharks. It not the Skinheads I've worried about it is the Police who will jack a brother of his money and passport. Unless you have hookups it is unsafe in Putin's Russia.

I have date a Polish women for a little more then a year, and the stories she have told me about Russia wasn't good, plus she hates Russian's with a passion. So on that note it wouldn't be a wise choice for a BM or IR to even think about traveling to that country.

I had dated a Polish woman years back and went to Poland to see her. The Baltic nations are all good in my opinion.

 

To be fair, that's just it - the Poles hate us and we're not too fond of them either. So don't base your opinion of Russia and Russians on the words of a Polish person, they're extremely biased.

 

IMHO, Vladimir Putin is making plans to return Russia to The-Hammer-And-Sickle-Days again...

The current "President" Dmitriy Anatolyevich is nothing but a mere sockpuppet for Putin; Putin has set things up so that when Anatolyevich vacates the Presidency, Putin will be The Head Pimp for LIFE!!

Of course he's not planning to bring back the 'hammer and sickle' days. But yeah, Putin will always be the one in control as long as he's in government. He's done a lot of good things for Russia and Russians though.
I'm not so happy with his actions recently, especially regarding glorifying Stalin and the pipe through Poland straight to Germany. That's going to cause a lot of conflict, no doubt.

 

Well being half Polish myself, Poland is no better than Russia in the racisim thing.
The problem is too, that in the east racism is not realy seen as a problem.
People think like, why he came to this place, if he would have stayed where he comes from, he would not been bothered ( or she). Plus people of other other color are not realy seem as being humans, so why make big fuzz of it.
Women who date out of their race are seen as betrayers of thier race and simply slutts.
A russian girl who got preagnant from a black guy in GErmany, got kidnapped from her own parents to get an abortion made in Russia. The girl had her mobile with her. so she could call the police from inside of her parents car trunk.
Polish women who was dating German soldiers during the war where killed after war by stabbing them with a broom stick in the vagina.

When m mother was getting my polish passport from the ambassy a polish offical asked her how she could fuck up the life of her dauther like this, giving her a german father.

Also in the Ukrain there was a very terible time when Ukrainians and Polish where fighting each other.
When there was mixed families, the gender was making the race. Son had the race of thier father and dauthers the race of thier Mother. for example
I was told there was a mixed family where the father was ukrainan and his wife polish. the guy went out with his son for some buisness, when he came back his wife and dauthers where not killed, but hurt so bad, that there was no chance in recovering, so he had see his wife and dauthers die. That is a long time ago, but it is still how the mindset is.

 

it is because the russians invaded our country..... and u guys killed some of our best educated officers in world war 2 right before the Germans even started the war.
