Black men bantering and women on the street! Bad approach.

I've recently started seeing the most handsome, funny, chill, generous, crazy-sexy-cool black dude ever. I went to the bar with a bunch of homeboys and noticed him from across the way and felt gravitated towards him instantly. I asked him to keep me company while I smoked and before long he got my number and the rest is history. Since getting to know him I have found this relationship to be one of the best most healthy relationships I have partaken in.... I guess I say this in defense of what I'm ABOUT to say.

I've honestly always been into 'bruthas' but I feel like I have also ALWAYS been repelled by black men SOLELY due to their approach. What the hell is with the douche bags on the corner of the street hollering/bantering at women that walk by? Everyone has witnessed this and if you're a semi attractive woman you have experienced this. The other day I was walking to the mini mart and a good 20 feel behind me I can hear "yes it do, mm, yes it do" repeated over and over and when I looked back there were two scrubs trying to convince me to come talk to them. Yea right. And sometimes it's not even bantering... its the face expression! Don't pierce me with your eyes like you can see through my clothes! damn!

In some instances I feel like it's a pity because in other circumstances I might have talked to the guy... but then the lack of tact makes me decline just out of principle.

Of course this is not all black men and I'm sure in relativity the percent of BM who behave this way is few. I guess my questions is if this approach ever ACTUALLY WORKS on women? Is this a learned behavior from male role models? Do they do it in a group to impress the other BM? It was only 60 years ago that BM were hardly able to LOOK at WW and I wonder if that may cause a complex in some people? Also, for those BM who are not like this how irritating is it that these dorks give ya'll a bad name?

No because I'm my own person I don't take responsibility for the actions of others. Do you look at white girls on girls gone wild and think "Damn we need to get our shit together" or do you lagh and say "wow look at those stupid hos"

First off, "bantering" is not the correct word choice; bantering is not a one-sided thing.

    banter:
    (Noun)
The playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks.

    bantering:
    (Verb)
To converse or exchange remarks in a good-humored teasing way.

Secondly, it's not a black man issue; there are creepy men of all races guilty of catcalling.

word. I guess I've never felt like other peoples actions reflect on me in any instance but more then anything I think that's because "white" is so broad. I'm actually half white/half hispanic and I would never associate myself with white trash walmart women OR yuppie uptown types.... totally different breed of person. BM on the other hand get stereotyped into one clump a lot more often then not and I guess I'd IMAGINED that it would be frustrating to see people perpetuating the stereotype. Guess not.

Gotcha. I guess my entire life has been a lie regarding the word "banter". I'm not as dumb as I look right now. Promise.

Mexican will stare creepily almost turning their head 360 to stare. Thats a whole different thing. And I can say I've never been cat called by a white man in my entire life. They might get my number and muster up the balls to say something dirty over a text but thats about it.

Oh god. I was reading you guys calling someone else 'trollish' on here. I'm not sure exactly what that means but I'm not trying to cause any problems (nor do I care if I do). It's the internet. People can say "everyones different, yadayada" all day but patterns are patterns and I'm honestly just trying to get a better perspective on it.

Hahah. That's funny. I'm not quite sure what to say! I'm definitely a "bro" but I'm %100 a female. Most guys dig me cause i'm cute and yadayada but can still listen to ODB and drink 40z on the porch with them. Guess there's not real way to know tho.

Anyway, no. No one is accountable for others actions. MORE THAN ANTHING I'm just wanting to know the motive behind a tactic for picking up women that can't possibly work? Or DOES it work? If you guys don't know the answer to this question about BM then who would? The last sentence of my thread was really an after thought but of course no one answers the other questions and skip right to defensive. Oh well.

    real life awaits. laterzzz.

Yes, I do, but getting a troll removed from this forum is pretty difficult.

Wrong. And why would someone do that? there's no motive!

As a Black man who doesn't behave that way, I have noticed the opposite in many cases. A female (white, black, or otherwise) who is in desperate need of having her ego validated and expecting me as a "lowly" BM to play the expected role. Those moments fluctuates between comical and sad when they realize that no catcalls are coming and their shit isn't as hot to me as they think it is.
