this show on cnn black in america is just a black man bashing!all the professional black women talk about is how there are no black men with degrees and 2 go out and find white guys. i have no problem with IR but black women have 2 stop saying that all black men are in jail because were not!i really dont know why these smart women with degrees cant find black guys but stop blaming us. i mean if a white guy is the only man you can find with a job and degree then go marry the man no 1 is stoping you!

Toronto's right. Calm down. It's just a replay from a few months back. They are doing the black man ep. tomorrow and supposedly there's some type of update episode or something coming up. It was an idea by Soledad O'Brien and some producers at Cnn. Hey, at least some black stories of struggle made their way onto tv that otherwise would not have.

Now you do make a point with the black women dating white men. I too am a supporter of IR dating obviously. But two of the examples they gave were a little misleading and a slap in the face. Like the one where the pretty sistah had dated several different type of black men on her way up the socioeconomic ladder before "deciding" on marry a white man. I mean, if you looked and listened to her, she seemed like the type of black woman who would marry a white dude anyways. She didn't marry him because there were no suitable brothas out there. She probably married him because she loved him and is herself an IR dater. But the segment made it appear that it's a warning sign to brothas that if we don't get our act together, the really smart black women will get away and build a more stable family with a white man. And I just don't believe that's so.

The other really pissed me off though. It focused on that writer in Hollywood of Sanaa Lathan's movie, "Something New." She stated because of her experience in the dating scene, she felt compelled to write that movie. She seemed to suggest that black women who are successful need options, but interestingly enough she would not go on record as to acknowledge whether she's into white men herself or not. She just seemed disingenuous about her reasoning and even appeared indignant as she searched various on-line postings of potential dates.

Again, they were two very narrow examples of the many deep problems which exist in the dating ranks of the black community. I find it funny that these documentaries can't wait to show a gorgeous sistah with a clean cut handsome white guy. But when a brotha whose got it together chooses a white woman who is equally on par with him intellectually and financially, they can't find a black woman fast enough who disapproves of it. Gross double standard. In the end, only black women are responsible for their own happiness. And if they are not choosing a deceit, hard-working black man, some other female will.

I'm waiting for the documentary that shows good, clean-cut, college-going young Black men getting trampled over by sistas in favor of thugs, criminals, and white boys.

Remember his his world, through his distorted, twisted mind, a brotha CAN NOT get an attractive WW.
