Birmingham, Alabama

What's up with Birmingham? I'm moving there pretty soon and went on myspace to just ask what the racial climate was on IR dating and where the best places were to mingle in a IR environment. I sent a message to 15 white women and only 1 responded. It was nothing sexual and just simply introducing myself and asking for cool spots to hang out. That told me alot about the city already..DAMN!

 

I don't know if this will help you specifically, but it might give you some hope

I dated a BM who lived in Huntsville, AL and we had no problems. Of course we'd occasionally get 'looks' when we were out and about there, but nothing serious.

Also, on the show "Two A Days" currently running on MTV, there is an IR relationship featured--BM/WW--an no one has a cow about it. It's a true life documentary series on the Hoover High football team, the players and their personal lives. The series was shot in Hoover, just outside of Birmingham.

 

Sorry Bro you are moving to the wrong city. I lived in Birmingham for about 4years and IR dating was almost non existent. I moved to Atlanta which is a more progressive city and much better for IR daters. I've been gone for 10+yrs and have never gone back and won't be back anytime soon.

 

Where did you go in Birmingham

Any hot spots? I heard Blue Monkey and Jitterbugs were nice places. I heard B'ham was pretty segregated though and IR relationships were almost nonexistent. I hear the ww there are not down for IR at all. They're nice and all but IR dating is completely out. My sisters husband is from B'ham...

 

Two A Days, yeah. great show. The guy doing the IR dating was the Defensive End number 91, Repete Smith. He had been dating that girl for a month.

Later at another game he hit on some white girls from another school during an away game. He got in trouble for that though.

Why the hell would you want to move to Birmingham AL of all places anyway?

 

Being transfer with my job. I've only been there once before and it seemed ok. I saw a couple IR couples. Should I be worried? ARe you in Birmingham?

 

Don't worry Rakim! It's not where you are, but how you do it "where you at!" Other words, have class about yourself and confidence! In a matter of time they will be approaching you :wink:

 

hey i live about a hour north of bham and club there often! jus wanted to say that ir dating does exist in alabama!!!!! it is harder for a white girl to find a black man than it is for a black man to find a white girl!! u might want to try club red or tantra they are mostly black clubs but there are white girls there!!!
