    Hey there..

One of my favorite topics, and I will defuse this by saying I love both of them, both of them had different skill sets, and to my dying day will say that they are equal. Their leadership skills in the 80s were unparalleled. We all know that Michael was better than both, and King James and Wade are just baring their teeth.

I am going to give the Boston perspective, obviously I am biased. I LOVED Larry Bird. Keep in mind, that ALL the brothers HATED the Celtics at this time, too many white boys, my friends were either Knick, Sixer or Laker fans. Bird was amazing. He couldn't jump, he was slow, but he was such a grinder. The three skills that he had was fabulous hand-to-eye coordination, a tenacious attitude to defensive rebound, and his shooting, which was deadly. He was a shooter, he'd take anything. But he'd kill teams' will.

Other than MJ, I have NEVER NEVER seen a clutch shooter than Bird. His passing was outstanding, a lot of touch passes, just knowing where eveyone was. Some of the over the head stuff. It was amazing. I saw him mostly every game from 1979-1992. And all the playoffs: Lakers, Bucks, Sixers..later the Pistons.

I love Magic, excellent passer, deadly on the fast break, made himself a good shooter. This is dead even.

I love the fact that Bird and Magic were such good friends, both Midwestern, both born poor, both had the drive.

Do you have any Bird v. Magic memories? I think that 1984, 1985 and 1987 were the best Finals that were ever played. It was fantastic. I know MJ had feuds, especially with Detroit, but it wasn't the same.

Back in the day, Bird and crew had to go through Dr. J and the Sixers just to get to the Finals, Lakers usually just got a free ride.

    What are your opinions?

    Peace out.
