G,also both men got Oscars and a lot of A-List performers want to act in their movies. Where was the outrage? As I type this there are so many cancellations of Cos' shows yet no big theater chain or channel wanted to ban their films. Also,remember when Polanski was under house arrest in Switzerland one of the big directors who was in supporting of releasing him is no other than Allen himself.

 

Hollywood was not that progressive back then. There were a very few films of the era that treats IR in a fair way. White men are treated better than Black men and if a White female accoused a brother with rape he would instantly go to jail.

 

The fact that they even made any IR themed movies like Guess Who's Coming to Dinner at all is progressive, especially since interracial marriages were still illegal in a number of states, mostly in the South, at the time when it was made.
