believe that the most important 'key' to a successful relationship would have to be 'trust'. I believe that with trust, love will follow. However, what I have noticed is that many people think trust, or expect that trust is to be earned by the other person, when in all actuality it is something that comes from within yourself.

I think it’s the shittiest feeling in the world that one has to even throw the trust card on the table, it should be an inbuilt trait of being human, what a sad world we live in to have to even ‘ask’ for trust.
I’m not entirely on board with this notion, I think communication is the most important thing in a relationship and trust is second to that. You could trust someone until your heart is content but that person could be a completely boring conversationalist.
If your communication is open enough with your significant other than trust comes natural, you shouldn’t need a reason to second guess anything.
I feel like with love trust will follow, not in the reverse order, and usually after trust follows, intuition also follows and then a broken heart sadly also follows.

I think that maybe a lot of people do take communication as trust.
Like if there is enough communication then you have nothing to hide (or actually hide anything) so you're trustworthy.

In a perfect world, I'd say that you should trust anyone until you find out that you shouldn't.
Of course we're not in a perfect world and a lot of people look really shady but for the vast majority, I don't see why you shouldn't trust them.

Also, it seems exhausting to me to have so little trust that you would have to spy of second guess everything all the time...

That’s right I think communication and trust kind of go hand and hand. Through lots of misfortune with crappy choices in men lol I’ve come to realise the tell tale signs from the beginning whether I can trust a dude or not. It’s when the phone remains in the pocket when you’re around eachother or it’s always face down if it is around you or that call that comes through that he constantly lets ring out. Trust comes down to a god damn phone haha now that really is sad. Bring back just having a pager I say lol.

I can whole heartedly say the only thing in this world that I genuinely trust is my dog lol
