Okay. I'll shut down for the time being. Your sanity is very important and it's a few days away until New Years, so best for you to end 2011 on a favorable note. Having said that, we shall bury it.

 

Dude it wasn't an empty threat it was literally how I use to deal with problems when I was around 16 and 17 and then for a short time when I was 24.
Living in the burbs and being black during the 90s I always felt like I had to prove my authentcity as a black person especially since I was in honors classes and spoke properly(my parents are Jamaican and didn't allow slang of any kind in the house) so my blackness was always being tested by a lot of the public school kids in the area. No real teasing or anything but enough to challenge my fragile ego at that age. It didn't help when I was dating a white girl(first girlfriend actually) from one of the neighboring rich towns and I caught her cheating with some guy from her school. My friends at the time made a big deal and proceeded to tune him and his boy up a little. I had nothing to do with it. Up until then I was pretty sheltered and never wanted any parts of violence outside of karate class. Months later after that happened the same kid saw me at his school picking up one of my friends(I had long forgotten about him hooking up with my ex by that point) and approached me on some tough guy shit since I was alone and he had a bunch of his friends with him. The security guards broke it up but my manhood was seriously tested but I managed to let it go until him and his friends started calling my house and saying shit to my mom and leaving pictures of gorillas in our mailbox and on the hood of our cars. And the police couldn't do anything because we couldn't prove it. So one morning I got about 16 of my friends together and we went to his town to find him and beat the shit out of him and his friends (to be honest I don't know what would have happened if I did run into him because up until then I had never been in a fight where teachers or someone could break it up).
I called him to meet me somewhere and he never showed so me and my friends went our separate ways. I was with two of my friends when were pulled over in an empty parking lot because my friend had to use a pay phone to return a beep from his gf. Five minutes after being there a Mazda mpv with 12 guys rolled up on us. We all started to run because we were clearly out numbered and they had bats and pipes. Me and one of my friends got away and the other didn't. They beat him until they split his skull asking where did his nigger friend go(my friend was white). The image of him in the hospital still messes with and its been over 14 years since it happened. Nothing like one of your best friends crying with dried blood all over his clothes and shoulders and neck to fuck up your day.
And even after that the same kids kept coming by house and harassing my family. They even broke in once, I can't even lie I was scared as hell and ended up going to a nearby projects and got a gun from a friend. That shit stayed in a shoe box under my bed for 4 months when I felt safe again but unfortunately for me I ran in a fight and where I'm from that's an absolute no no. It's better to fight and end up dead than to run away, at least that was the mentality.
After that for over a year I felt like I had to constantly prove myself because people constantly made jokes about the running so anytime have even the slightest conflict punch to the face followed by a good stomping. To this day I thank God I didn't seriously hurt someone or end up in jail but I did hang out with the wrong kids for awhile. I really felt like I had to show I wasn't a punk so comments like you were making earlier were definite grounds for a good ass whooping no two ways about it. I did that until kids I hung with started taking it new levels and started robbing people. It really hit me when one of my boys shot another kid over a damn Averex jacket and did 3 years for that. And it was also around the time that everyone else I use to be close with was going to college and I decided I'd rather do school than to keep fucking my life up. So I did two years of community college then two years at SUNY with a slight break because I had a tumor next to my thyroid but like I said earlier I apologize for the way I came at you just a really sore subject.

I've read through it all and I'm very happy to see you've grown into the man you are today. Fight vs. Flight...that's always a problematic situation when faced with danger. Never call running a form of cowardice. Rather, see to it as a way to prevent yourself from being harmed and losing any opportunity of getting into a proper place of education.

I know it's hard being in places that are more or less dangerous. But under those conditions, it does build a stronger person as long as you make the right decisions in your life.
