Excluding ANYONE from work based solely on their weight is WRONG. Disagree all you want, won't sway my opinion on the matter. As I've said before, I applaud the attempted effort to raise awareness for women suffering from eating disorders, but I wholeheartedly believe using the bmi grid as their measuring stick to exclude people is insane -in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and don't come at me with ignorant generalizations. "Seeing what we want", "turning a good discussion to crap", "getting nasty"...wtf are you talking about? This discussion has been respectful from each post I've seen...until yours.

You may have officially lost it GL. This thread wasn't at all turning into what you claim. I'm well aware how the overweight/thin conversation goes here, but why you're attempting to turn a peaceful thread into that is beyond me. I read the article, I stated my opinion, others stated there's, then I was nominated for presidency. Seems like a logical progression to me. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Per your thread... Since skeletal expectations and hirings are putting workers at risk of sickness and death...it's perfectly plausable to consider fining French employers for it (doubt any will serve jail time)... I think they should first be given guidelines, and if employers egregiously abuse them, then steep employee safety violation fines sound justified, with repeat offenders having their company temporarily closed.
